Here's what mine looks like. I can't get it any closer than that. Anyone think it's a problem?

TJ91, what do you mean, exactly, by the intake moving "up?" Literally, vertically up? Mine won't lift up, even if I pull on it. I'd have to force it up over the front lip that I had to force it down past when I installed it to get it to move, and it won't push down because it's resting on the radiator/brackets/heat pad. I just don't know what kind of movement to look for. Thanks for any help you (or anyone else) can offer.

technically your engine move alot left and right especially when you are driving her hard. So technically your intake should be moving right along with the engine. If there is no room for your intake to move with the engine than most likely you will start to notice your intake come loose in the long run.

Driver side is a little closer than the passenger side. Though I am not bothered by this as the amount of space difference is like 1/8" difference. I may take mine appart just because I dont really have anything else to do. Plus im bored, need more car parts.

Watch the video and you can see the "wing" that directs the air to the intake.
Water temp is controlled by the thermostat and will be close to the thermostat temp. So regardless of what intake you are running, your water (coolant) temps will/should always be around your thermostat temp, which I believe is a 200 to 205 degree as mine runs the same coolant tmeps as yours. Do you know what the before and after Vararam intake air temps were?

Well some bad news :( my circle went from perfect to dent. I guess its time to pm Vararam and ask for a new lower half. I did go out and purchase an 3.5 turbo clamp cost 3.95 from local napa. Yes, 3.95 was the cost I asked twice even saw a photo sure enough its the same clamp. Not bad price wise. See below photos for deform, also I did not over tighten. I just tighten till snug maybe my snug is different than someone elses snug.

Ouch that sucks, definitely from being too tight. You should only tighten down the clamp enough so that you can't move it with your fingers - I learned the hard way as well. Hopefully that turbo clamp should keep it from happening again, let us know how things go with Vararam.

In the meantime you could try heating it with a heat gun and pushing it back - it wouldn't be perfect but could help a little.

Does that mean you need to take the intake off to check to see if something like that happened or would you be able to tell?

You wouldn't be able to tell without taking the red coupler off. (Unless you noticed decreased performance; however, with the HP we're talking about, that's not likely.)

I just took mine apart to see if I could tell if was mating up correctly. It isn't. It looks like one of the two cutouts on the lower part of the intake that allows the intake to rest on the heatshield (around the radiator brackets) isn't cut quite right. It seems like it's about a quarter inch too far towards the outside, and thus doesn't allow the intake to sit perfectly centered on the throttle body. Thus, the entire intake is torqued, and won't mate up.

I've tried calling the tech support line over the weekend. It's very possible they don't intent to offer support on the weekends, but the first few times I called, the number didn't work. Now it just tells me that their mailbox is full and I can't leave another message. I guess I'll just put the stock intake back on and call in the morning.

Here are some pictures about what I mean...

This is as close as I can get the intake to mate to the throttle body without torquing the intake in such a way that will prevent them from properly mating. (And, of course, they won't mate like this.)

By the way, what the heck is wrong w/ my throttle body? It looks like part of the lip is polished, and part isn't. I didn't notice that before I put on the intake...

Here's the driver's side bracket. See how it the intake cutout falls in the middle of the bracket?

But on the passenger side, it's all the way against the edge, preventing me from properly centering the intake.

I just enlarged the groove for the radiator bracket with a dremel sanding bit - looks perfect and it no longer binds.

Crap. I just looked again. Half my lip isn't just no longer polished. Half the lip is gone. What the heck? That has to be a manufacturing defect I just missed right? There's nothing about having the intake on a little torqued that would cause that, is there?
