The ZL1 will fix all of this and truly be the ultimate no fuss 550hp supercharged Camaro and will be backed by a warranty.
The very reason why I moved on to the 2011 Mustang GT.

Throwing good money after bad...next thing you know you are shelling out $3K+ just to get the drivetrain to where it needs to handle some strip time. Doesn't account for the weight difference which is very difficult to overcome with the Camaro. The Mustang is very easy to reduce weight over the existing weight advantage it has over the Camaro. Just increases the gap that much more.

I suppose, but, so it goes. Pay to play. I decided to just fix it as it breaks if I go that rout. Most of my suspension is done to my satisfaction. Axles could break. But maybe not. I figure, I'll get it as I need it. I may just have to stay at local tracks once I get my cam. LOL

Yes. But only by choice. It doesn't have to be. I choose it to be. If I had to put it up, I have two backups.

There have been multiple automatic SS cars in the 10's with a stock drivetrain. Manual cars is a different story. Ford has always had the better rear end for strip duty. Gm has always had the better trans. Everyone has to upgrade something expensive.

Exactly the Ford gang loves to come in here and remind us of the downfalls of our Camaros but fail to talk about the issues with their Mustangs.

I'm guilty of this too I guess. Stock T5's have a little trouble holding the power that my motor is making, Ford sure uses some piece of shit transmissions. I would be shocked if someone with a built/blown LS that's churning out over 700hp had any trouble with their stock trans or rear end....

LOL after grenading two T5s, a World Class T5, I finally yanked it and installed a C4 in my old 86GT, funny thing is the car picked up nearly .5 seconds with that change.

LMAO! I know exactly how you must have felt. My 93 is currently awaiting a TKO600, I could own stock in Tremec with the money I have spent on transmissions. It was funny to see the post about Ford transmissions and GM rear ends. I'm on my 4th T5 and a buddy just trashed the rear end in his 71 Chevy p/u....

Take the plunge get rid of the TKO, T5s, World Class, and drop in the C4. I am telling you that transmission along with a 8" Convertor was the best modification I ever made to that car, it instantly went from running a best of 11:70 on motor, inconsistant at best, to 11:20s pass after pass. I kind of wish I had gone with an automatic in this Camaro and just had swapped in a convertor

I really would consider that option were I planning on just tracking the car. I drive it mostly Fri-Sun, she has a/c and a few other creature comforts still. I thought about going with either an Astro Performance or G-Force but there's a guy in our Mustang club selling a TKO600, bellhousing and Spec stage 5 clutch for a very reasonable price. I know there are quite a few people running built C4's and they are bullet proof, I just like rowing through the gears too much.

SVTP: Yet another sick photo shoot my 2010 SS take two insane photos inside

There is plenty of LSX/ Camaro respect over there.

I will continue to post Gen V engine info as I get it on Camaro5. I got really lucky that someone high up led me to those photos of the LS5.5R.

Honestly as long as its contained in a few threads I like people like Pill posting info. Lets be honest here, if the 5th gen Camaro never came out Id bet at least 30% of us if not more would be rolling in 5.0s/V6 Stangs.

I dont see any checks coming to me in the mail from GM for supporting them, thus when it comes to car purchasing Im a free agent. So whomever makes the better next gen stang/camaro, Im on their team.

Thus I like getting info right here on C5, our home, on the next gen stang. Pill is doing all the work for you, be happy.
