The door starts off bright and fades out towards the dash.

Actually the door dims a bit near the end. It was more noticable when I replaced the ice blue LED's with red.

You need to take the door panels off and remove the tape that dos not allow the light to go all the way back, and sand the last 3-5" for the light to make it all the way back.

Mine is this way (bright to dim). I guess I will have to modify it as Ofer suggests.

One more thing if you take the panel off at the dash side you have a cover connector with no LED in it you may want to add 1 more LED on it this is for IOM panels only cars.

So just to clarify, if I want my stock door LEDs to go all the way up to meet the dash ones all I need to do is take the door off and remove some tape and then sand?

Ofer, I'm not sure what you mean here. Is this for the door panels or the ABL in the dash?

So, for the no-drill version, is this the part needs to be broken?

Door panel, There is a blank connector on the far side of the light pipe from the factory where you can add a second LED, that was the way my car came.
