If whom ever wants a V6 so be it but i'd prefer the V8 performance wise, sound, and as a traditional sports car.

and yes the SS is not a sports car ...
Moral of the story, V6 is a good sports car, SS is a beast, which ever you want, whatever floats your boat, get it. You want a honda civic that can rape an SS, go get it.
These arguements are soo damn prevalent, its like fn aids. No one wants it yet they keep f'n around with it

is a 370z a muscle car ??? its got a v6 that is faster then a v6 camaro . and all of the old v8s ????
You didnt answer the question though. Just define a muscle car and ill shut up. Is the genesis sedan a muscle car since its a v8?

I dont care if mine is or isnt one just wondering what exactly makes a car one. It cant be just the big 3 bc of AMC etc.

Not necessarily. I know a lot of the older crowd grew up with the term 'muscle car' referring to a big engine inside a big car; i.e. a 396 inside a '69 Chevelle.
'Muscle car' didn't even apply to the Camaro back in the '60s. It was technically a pony car because it was smaller than the real muscle car competition, the Chevelle.
Challenger, Camaro, Mustang- pony cars.
Charger RT, Chevelle SS, Torino GT- muscle cars.
Granted, times have changed. We have V6's putting out more hp than the V8's of years past, but they're still only ~3.5L. Going off the big engine inside the big car mentality, that's nowhere near enough to be called a muscle car. Even the mediocre 350 was a 5.7L engine.
Of course, in the end, it's all subjective. 'Muscle car' was a coined term to begin with. To me, it's not a muscle car without the roar and torque of a V8; to others, it's about the horsepower. At the end of the day though, there's no replacement for displacement.

Hey look! Heres some gas! Look at that fire!

At the risk of alienating myself from my fellow Georgians and club members at teh Wings and Wheels Car Show last week at teh museum of Aviation... I took a Best in Class over the more prevalent V8s in the 2010-11 Camaro Line. Ok a ABM V8 buddy got a Best in Class as well

And I have already decided to get a Z28, after my kids are out of college and off my insurance plan Then I am gonna dog SS owners like nobody's business! Much love to all!

Sorry, but the Camaro/Mustang/Challenger are not sports cars.

Good Heavens, a Corvette is even a questionable choice to be called a sports car anymore. At least in the snese of what came over from Europe after WW II.

Think Jaguar XK120, Austin Healy, MG, Triumph, etc. Now those were sports cars.... Only the best British Parts fell off of them.

The Corvette , at least initially, was close back in those days. But time has pretty much forced evolution.

Way back in the day, Camaros, Mustangs, Barracudas, Javelins, Challengers et al were known as and marketed as " sporty cars."

Sporty feeling but hardly in the same handling category as what was considered a sports car back then.

Today, Porsche Cayman -Boxter Honda S2000, Miata, 370Zwould be more like those older sports cars.

Don't sweat what other people think, plenty of people think they have the only opinion that counts about what everyone else does or does not do to thier Camaros or whatever. It is your money, your car and your life; live it as you see fit and the heck with what Billy Bob or whomever thinks about anything.

Theres a case either way.

"While some competitors' base trims provide muscle-car looks without muscle car power, the V6 Camaro has both. In terms of power and performance, it's one of the best V6 muscle cars on the market."
