Watched NATGEO last night and it was great however I would have liked to see more detail like fitting out the interior, dash assembly, door component assembly etc but I understand if the lack of detail was due to industry secrets, not wanting to give the competion any pointers or inside info.
Keep up the good work GM!!!!!!!!!!

That was just way cool! I was "riveted" to my seat watching that. A glass of wine and a show about my new baby, that was awesome!!!

Well, let's see. 1st off, I've been in production (assembly / operater) for 20 years. Lots of the details were missed but covered most of the main parts of production. There was a quick shot of IBM and very short shot of ABM.
Can tell GM did not get to correct inaccuracies prior to airing of show. An assembly line is not a place for just anyone to work. Looks really fast but most can learn job and learn best practice to make job look really easy.
Very interesting seeing the die stamping and how quick they can switch them out. And the paint plant was unreal. Different colors back to back, that's too cool. Mix up of engines and styles drove me nuts during the whole show...lol.
Wish they had showed more of the workers. For any one that thinks those robots are flawless (LMAO) think again. We have just 2 to move boxes of inserts at our brewery. Takes some damn smart people to reset, rehome, and re-learn x,y,& z axis points (reason for slow ramp up on production). A big Thank You goes out to all the hard workers at Oshawa. A B- to Nat.G. for mistakes and editing. They should have asked some Camaro5 members for input / questions.....

As soon as I saw that I was like "WHAT THE F IS THAT". Ugly a$$ wheels, couldn't they find a stock version to film. Idiots.

Isn't THIS Camaro5?

Anyway, I agree. They kept talking about the muscle of the v6.. that was odd to me but the v6 IS impressive as hell for a v6 and honestly, had I known it performed as well as it does I might've saved myself some cash and gone with a v6 but then again, spending this much money, I want what I want and I wanted V-F'in-8

AMAZING factory...it looks spotless. Cool show, I don't know why they chose to talk about the 304 HP V6 when they certainly could have brought up the 426 HP V8.

Very interesting at least.

Did anyone notice that they showed every color but IBM, can you say collectors item. The show was good except for talking about V6 and showing a SS.

My summit white SS also had a TPW of 8/3. Only a second or two of a white Camaro but who knows, It may have been mine: built 8:50 A.M. 8/3. My VIN number 32351. It would have been nice to know the vin of that red Camaro we actually saw go through the build process. Great show !.

It was pretty cool, some things that were strange that everyone has mentioned but still cool. They only had an hour right.

A couple of questions about what I saw:
1) To build the undercarriage you need three components: an engine compartment, a floor pan, and a rear compartment. Are we to assume that these pieces are produced in the stamping portion of the plant? Or, are these fabricated elsewhere? I would have liked to see how those components are fabricated.
2) How much different is this generation's assembly process different from the third and fourth generation?
Thanks,
Tony
