Regal now.........................maybe convertible if things work out. Two other examples of GM's awesomeness.

Sweet. We'll have to see if we can meet up again.

And 50 share minimum with $26-29/share is making my wallet and bank account sad.

Dinner transportation tonight. Very nice. Started with 21 miles of range at work and drove about that home before the ICE kicked in, which was hardly noticeable. Truly something extraordinary here. Truly.

I can't tell you how jealous I am that you're driving that thing around, 3.

This, coming from a guy with his eyes on the mighty Z. I LOVE the Volt!!!

So...I'm gonna spill some thoughts out of my head for a minute....(might want to wear your safety goggles)

The new Cruze Eco managed a fantastic 42mpg hwy rating. Absolutely incredible. But anyways -- it also managed to lose close to 200lbs over its non-eco partners. And the press release quoted major advancements in aerodynamics and weight savings technologies learned during the development of the Volt.

Things like lighter wheels, and grille closeouts, and even weld flanges were cited as contributers. That little thing only costs about 18.5 thousand dollars.

I think...purely speculation...we'll see some of these techniques adapted to the Z28, and maybe even the whole 2012 lineup. No idea what would be involved...and obviously the two cars are hugely different.

But like I said...safety goggles.

Not far fetched at all. But what is this Z28 you speak of?

One of the big enablers for the Eco is the shutter that opens and closes in the lower radiator opening. HUGE aero improvement, but also not cheap.

I wouldn't expect a 200 pound mass decrease in the 2012 Camaro, but the techniques and technologies used on the Eco could certainly be applied to other models.

Your thinking has not required any safety goggles for me. My vision is perfectly fine afterward.

Allow me to steal a marketing theme of Microsoft's:

My name is Joe. And the Z28 was MY idea.

It's not intuitive to think that blocking airflow would increase aerodynamic efficiency....but it makes sense, and it's an awesome feature that NOBODY (correct me if I'm wrong) currently utilizes on their cars.

Good. I never "expect" anything. That only ever leads to disappointment or at best, contentment....call me "prepared".

How is it that welding flanges, and other seemingly frame-specific components were able to be modified for one trim level and not drastically effect the price of the car as a whole?
