Perhaps if the group does get split up dealing with all the lights, we can have everyone pull into the rest stop and wait on the Rest Stop Exit Ramp which is pretty long and could hold a large group of cars...

The Rest Stop is between exit 181 and 177 which 177 is the exit we take for the 475 Bypass around Macon. Summit is exit 216.

Rest area is MileMarker 179

Also if interested - I can check on getting us a police excort getting on the interstate from Summit. That area has provided excorts for our large motorcycle group rides.
Excellent idea!

Play nice with the locals, JR

ZAP... Can you contact the local PD? If you have done it before you must know the method... As far as the rest area, we will dip in there for sure as long as we are not crazy late and regroup. Let me know what the PD said...

No kidding... 80 cars nose to tail is 1/2 mile long... Once you get stretched out the lead car will be in Valdosta before the last car leaves Summit!

How cool would that be to get a pick of a major 3-4 lane highway with Camaros lined up in all for lanes in a box formation.....that would be RADICAL!!!

Kathy63's daughter is on it! I am going to catch up with her and see where she will be and we are going to try to get into formation as we pass her. Apparently she will be on an overpass.

I'm gonna try to hit up the Tifton meet up...I know there is a group or two planning on stopping there but I'm not sure what time - will have to read thru the posts to look and see. I'm brining my Nikon D5000 with my 18-55 and 55-200 lenses so the pics should come out nicely. Definately will post all my pics from C5F for everyone to see... Cant wait for the meet n greet either!!

For the I95 caravan, return trip

Here is the hotel info for our return trip on Sunday. For those requiring a room, I have another place in Concord NC, which is only 5 hours from fredericksburg Va. We are going up i85 which will take us through Atlanta, and Charlotte. It should be an easy ride, with a change of scenery. I know not everyone will go this route, so let me know if you reserve a room.

"Attached is the group room agreement for the travelers coming from the C 5 Fest for April 18, 2010. I know that all of your guest will be extremely happy staying with us. I have blocked 22 rooms for your group and this includes a mixture of Kings and Double/Double rooms. Please have your guest call in to make reservations using group code C5F by 04/14/10."

The room rate is 61 dollars. It is a significant savings from their normal rate. It also includes a hot breakfast the next morning from 6am to 10am. Let me know if there are any issues. It is available now.

Tim, T&T performance, I talked to the Manager at the hotel, and he stated their are some side roads to park on, or they may have space in their parking lot. you should have no problem parking close to the rest of us.

If you are not correct in this list please let me know. I will update it.

The times for our travel are based GMAPS. Our caravan will be departing at 10am from Fredericksburg on the 15th. We will try and maintain 70mph for cruising speeds. This might put us ahead of GMAPS, so you will need to allow for some flexibility within the meet times as you see I have in our arrival times below.

Our first scheduled rest stop will be in NC just after i95/i40 in Benson at the exxon on E. Church St. There are a couple of fast food places just in case anyone needs to get something quick to go. Our next stop will be for lunch/gas in S. Carolina at Indigo Joe's off i95/i20.

Anyone joining in at other locations should be waiting on/off the highway and merging into the caravan as we pass. I will PM my number to everyone for communication, and we will designate a walkie/talkie channel to communicate on as well for those who will use the walkie talkies.

Ok so I'm gonna try to meet up on I-75 so I can take some photos of everyone coming down from Atlanta and upwards. I know there are a few groups meeting in Tifton but I may be able to make the trip up to Macon to take pictures there. What times are these groups planning on coming in that area so I can be there?

PM me your name (if its not Becca) and cell number and I will call you as the caravan departs Summit.

Will that give you enough time or should I call sooner?
