I would never choose a manual, but some would like the manual. its all what you like to drive.

I'm very happy with my A6. It goes good enough and less chance of making a mistake at the strip. No missing gears for me! Oh and I love the 1.6 60's.

And I'm telling you, no doubt the traffic thing... I just got back from DC took me an hour to drive 10 miles..... No clutch for me if I lived there.... Auto without at doubt...

My only regret in the auto tranny is the way my orange stripes look on it.

Nope Chris, a LS3 also broke its axle. It limped past the Camaro5 table while I was helping out there. Thought it was a TSPM sensor hitting the brake line but he showed us his wheel wobbling.

a car like that, manual transmission really makes is that much better to drive. getting it in automatic i feel like your getting a different car, yea its gunna be fast but there will always be that thought...i should have gotten the 6 speed.
plus dont even think about bringing that tranny to a road course. |

The wife demanded automatic. I wanted an M6. We got the automatic. See how that works? But I have no complaints with the automatic. I agree, it does feel like it has to "spool up" and isn't an instantaneous burst of power like an M6 would have, but when the drivetrain finally figures out you want to go, it will push you back in the seat. I'm not disappointed. But I'm always forgetting to take off traction control, etc. so it might be some torque management stuff getting in the way. I dunno.
Besides, it's great that if I want to row through some gears, I always got my 02 SS M6 to do that with. I haven't driven an M6 2010, but can't see it would be that much different than the 02. When I see another Camaro, the last thing I care about is which transmission it has.

I can say this for automatics, my Maybellene is a A4 with the TQ management tuned out and the line pressure increased, when the twin turbos hit boost, they stay there and it becomes one long angry pull... As opposed to one of my manual turbo cars, which must re-spool its larger turbo after every shift. A boosted auto can be a thrill, and I'll never have to use the infamous "I missed 3rd" excuse...
However, manuals are also a blast...
