well actually it depends what they are in the market for, a really fast track car? a status symbol? a nice comfy car to cruise in?

people shopping in the 100-500k bracket aren't as jaded as you think they are. they still know the value of the dollar.

Probably more than the normal buyer...or they wouldn't be in that bracket....

Well, that may be true right up until you cross the Russian border, then they just lose their senses. Today I saw a brand new X5 M that was sanded down and painted flat carbon black - emblems and all. Here, that's a $150,000 car at least. Then there is the new AMG I saw with the nature scene mural painted on it............ More dollars than sense for sure! Here it's all about prestige. Hell, you can't even drive fast no matter what you have. I don't know how many times I've walked down a street and passed a Ferrari stuck in traffic. Even if he does get on an open road, 9 months out of the year its going to be covered with snow anyway.

God,....if I had the cash a ZR1 would be the first car I'd buy. All I need is one!! Amazing supercar. Despite all the power this car packs.....I was disappointed. I wouldn't want to drive anything heavier than a Challenger.
the zr1 will beat just about anything
end of the day it's still a vette- super car performance without the look. i would take a used Ferrrari 430 or Lambo
for 150k over a zr1 even though the performance is slightly less

Not only is it a load of BULL*** but I seriously can't believe someone said it.

Mercedes sells expensive rides no doubt... but they are hardly the epitome of quality. Their reliability sux... their materials are average at best.. and even in this situation I can guarantee that the potential owner will be in the Service Waiting area the day after he drove it... 80% of the time. The ZR1 owner would have the assurance of actually being able to DRIVE his car on a daily basis with lil to no worries.

Nope... don't own either one... but have driven a ZR1 or 2 since it's been out to compare to the Z06 and my Z51. And who hasn't driven an AMG a hundred times with my clientèle.

The power of the cars both are awesome.. but to call the ZR1 inferior in quality is a load of crap. For one the engineering of the ZR1 is actually more advanced in quite a few ways than the Black. I bet his comment about it being Cheaply made centered on the damn interior of the Vette.. which is hardly a reason to say an entire car is "Cheaply Made." Especially when U have a car that is capable of obliterating $300K Ferraris in every performance measure, while being a daily driver, yet cost $200K less.

No.. just because I haven't personally had to waste a day in the dealership for a Benz.. let alone an AMG model.. I do have many college and family members who have. My older brother just literally go off the phone with bitching about his S-Class, and how much of a POS it was.

The Mercedes and AMG cars are excellent vehicles. I mean get real with the lame posts. I had the worst ownership with the 2007 CTS-V I owned but know many others who like them. I have lots of business friends who have bought numerous Benz models from base to AMG who wouldn't buy anything else. I would say with the 2 i've owned they have been less problematic than most.

Listen to this guy defending the German Taxicabs. Buddy get real. Benzs are shit when it comes to reliability and that's that. The only vehicles that I might say are worse in the mainstream is the Land Rover line. And I'm LMFAO at the reference to the old CTS-V... Caddy's first foray into the SPORT-Lux ball game. AMG has been around for years.. yet still can't get it right

Let me get this straight- posting my experiences in cars I have actually owned make me wrong while you post about cars you've never driven or owned. Funny!

AMG cars are $hit ???
German taxi cabs??? bad reliability?? average materials?

I would buy my S550 again despite the fact it costs twice as much as the V because in my opinion it's TWICE the car.

Old cts-v technology?? umm my friend they have been making it for 8 years and still can't get the wheels to hook up. rear diff problems - rattles-wheel hop- below average build quality ect and nothing has changed since 04 to 2011 except more power that doesn't work.....

CL65 and E63 will run circles around it as all-around performers. Saw a C63 (same price as a V) on the track out run a V stock vs stock.
End of story- move on and enjoy your V.
