Up-date. We are currently working on a custom shifter for a customer. This unit will incorparate a micro switch for activating his nitrous without moving the hand from shift position. It can also be used in the same manner for line-lock. Prototype should be finished by the end of the week. Pictures will follow. Thanks. George.

Hi all, I've been working on more shifter options. The latest update and an answer to your question is yes and no. As in previous posts you cannot run both sets of switches simoutaniously. You can, by using the selector switch (a new option) use one or the other. In other words you can use the wheel buttons if you desire or flick the switch and then you can use the shifter buttons but not both at once. The switch can be front or rear mounted on the shifter. It isbvery similar to the switch added to activate nitrous or line lock. You can view them here.http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100021. The switch is the red button on the base it can also be front mounted. Thanks. |

It seems I get a good amount of e-mail and pm's asking if I am planning on different designs. As before the answer is no at least for now. It seems most are concerned that it's not fancy enough well that's true but the fact is I have tried various designs and this is the most comfortable ergonomic design I can come up with. A lot is because of switch size. The fact is these (stock) switches work the best that I have researched. Everyone has their opinions of what it should look like but my intentions were to design something that looks at home in the car and above all functions well and this does. Other shapes and switch locations IMHO cannot compare to this. There are plenty of big manufacturers making fancy shifters for the Camaro so if you are looking for fancy please buy one but if you want a shifter that solves the turning button problem and truly inhances your driving experience this is the one. Besides you wont see it much 'cause your hand will be on it, tap shifting is habit forming.

After all the e-mails for a different shifter design we have come up with a new pistol grip with tap shift. Because of the new internal design we will be coming out with some new designs in the near future including one with no visable switches. Here is a link with the prototype being tested and will be in production in a week or two. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116908. The new internal design also cuts down on much of the machining time and production costs and will have a MUCH lower price tag. Prices will be released after the first run but I am sure you will be happy.
