IMHO this noise is the combined slack in the clutch, transmission, driveshaft, ring and pinion and output shafts, with the potential that one of those points may be contributing more than it's share of the noise--like excessive ring and pinion backlash. which is what I think is making the noise in my car.

My 2011 did this the day I picked it up with just a few hundred miles on it. Like others, it's occurance depends on how fast I kick in the clutch. Glad to see I'm not alone.

Unfortunately the best way for all of you to resolve this issue is to first get your vehicles diagnosed by your dealerships. There are quite a few documents at their disposal to assist in diagnosing any and all issues with the clutch. Hopefully that gets most if not all of you squared away. If any of you continue to have issues with your vehicles please let me know so I can assist you further.

One thing I did discover, which might not be good on your clutch, but when you go to play with the pedal, give it a lil gas, don't just completly alow a dead clutch pump, these tranies are a lil different, just like when you have to let the cars trainie componets sometimes catch up or it feels like it wont go in gear, this is where camaros driver seperate them self from the other pony's, Its not a pony, its a beast of a wrech, you have to feel the darn car, it take more than a skilled driver, you have to become one with your camaro before you get treated right. btw 2011 25kmiles not one bit of clucth problem rattleing I kept it hid by just remebering to give it gas be for touchin the clutch, I know yawl are giving it the dry dump clutch, you have to give it gas! engine & needs gas to move parts lol

Example driving 12mph in first gear, fully press the clutch and I hear and feel a rattle from the transmission. The sound is very audible from inside and outside of the car. Car has done this from day one and now has 730 miles on it. This sound is annoying and embarrassing.

Any suggestions before I contact the dealer? I don't want them to claim the noise is because of my MGW shifter. The noise was present with the stock shifter when I drove the car off of the lot.

I have a V6 Man. I get a slight rattle when I press the clutch in sometimes. I first thunk it was something in the exhaust but all was tight. It is so slight that it doesn't really bother me. The funny thing is when I test drove a Mustang I felt a similar rattle when pressing in the clutch.

Can we get these threads merged? I wan't as many people as possible to chime in about this problem so that I can present it to GM.
This one and the other ten or more that have been kicking around since 2009.

I owned several performance cars and just can't believe GM did not resolve this issue. I don't care what anyone says. This noise does not belong in a performance car. Hell, it doesn't belong in any car except something with 250K miles. And, it does have an affect on resale value. Some guys might not care, and to those I say enjoy your car and don;t look back. For me, I am struggling to accept it. To each their own I guess...
You should have bought a BMW then.

Got a valid resource validating that this "noise" is affecting resale value?

I agree with you. My previouse 6 speed cars (96 Z28, 99 SS) never made the noises my current car has. I think the TR6060 has gear clearance issues.

I've drove plenty of manual cars and this is the first to make this noise. I do believe it is normal and just takes some getting used to. I have 733 miles now and the only times I hear it now are if I let out on the clutch pedal too quickly in first or reverse, or depress it too quickly. I also give it a little gas when taking off in first just to keep the rpms from dropping below 1000, haven't heard the noise at all when using this method and it's a lot smoother. Not sure if this is bad on any components or not, someone let me know if it is.

Feathering your clutch to keep it from making the noise is probably going to cause some premature wear to your clutch over time. At least compared to getting on and off the pedal quickly.

My transmission also makes some noises when maneuvering slowly, shifting in and out of 1st and reverse. I'm just used to it now.

Mine does the same thing. Also, if I am running at any speed in third gear and push the clutch to the floor and down shift to second, it grinds a bit. Its not alot but it is noticable by my wife who knows very little about cars. At first I thought it was because of the skip shift feature but that should not have any effect on down shifting. I also noticed that second gear feels like a ratchet when it is engaged, almost like a bad syncro. I think that these two issues are connected in some way and as long as the dealership doesnt give me any problems fixing them, I dont care. Along with that, the right hand exhaust is vibrating on the ground effects. Needless to say, my baby needs some LOVE from my local Chevy dealer. I will let you all know what they say about the two being connected.
