nob???? there are so many reason why there is ingorance behind that statement. walk a day in a cops shoes.. there are reasons why they have front license plates. tell me how a cop identifies the car that is trying to run him over if there is no front plate, wait he has to stop and wait till the back of the car runs him over. your reply oh how much does that happen, more than you know and think. every try to run a plate to get info on a vehicle when it looks like a stolen car and there has no plate yeh i dont think you experienced that either so untill you know dont judge on what the cop is doing because you feel something is or isnt worth it. if you only knew how many tickets are handed out on a daily basis for cell phones, tailgating speeding or what ever infraction you posted you would not believe. and i bet if i followed you from your home to your work on any given day in an unmarked police car im sure i can give you at least 5 moving violations. but hey thats ok. matter of fact you dont even need to go far you are subject to 5 summons right off the bat with your illegally tinted windows. now if the cop pulled youover and gave you 5 tickets the cop would be wrong for what he did because there are more important things than tinted windows right? try telling that to the family of a cop i knew that is now dead because 5 pieces of crap in a tinted out car rolled down there tinted window and blew a hole in his head. so before you judge walk a day in a cops shoes! |

while he wrote my ticket, 3 box trucks went by without being checked, what if one was a terrorist, meanwhile hes jerking around with me. Jaywalking is still against the law but they dont ticket it.

Agreed. Almost as lame as requiring people to wear a seatbelt in their car or a helmet on a motorcycle. While I do both, it's completely idiotic to ticket someone for something that can't effect anyone else.

My best friends are cops so i def get. Tommy is an excellent person and to infer all that from some venting about ball busting cops is a bit much no? I have nothing but respect for our officers and im sure bliz feels the same way.

jcl im not sure the reasoning behind the other states, the license plate issue is something that is before all of our times, dont quote me on this but i think the usa is the only country that i know of that has either 1 or 2 license plates, i see many pictures from other countries and they all have front license plates.
mike i am not bashing tommy as a person, from the few times ive meet him he seems like a good guy. my remarks were not to attack him as a person, just a rebuttle to his comments. was it a little heated yes it is but people negativly comment on the cops actions there is little positive so hot i reacted is in the eye of the beholder and tommy is still a good guy in my book. and jcl i agree with you the cop should of been doing his assigment and checking trucks, being a boss, if i was his boss i would of tore him apart for issueing the ticket to you or any cars pulled over. and yes jaywalking is on the books, and it should be more enforced it would stop people from getting hit by cars as well as seat belts, seeing accidents all the time, seat belts do save lives 90% of the time, there is still a percentage where they hurt more than help |

Just to interject one last time............. I am in full support of the police....... They do , everyday, what most could never do via lack of a backbone.....Lay their lives on the line for us.......... I believe that God forbid something catastrophic happens and the reasoning behind it was the fact that a car was pulled over for a front plate so it slipped by.........I would have that cops ass in a sling......... This city is likely the highest target on any terrorists list........ Thank you for your support.......

I think we can put this one to bed now, i got my frustrations out and i feel better now :-). the purpose of this post was really: If you have no front plate dont go into tunnel on right lane. And thats all i have to say about that.

That's a little crazy, Lets reverse the scenario. Say the person behind the Original poster was a car jacker holding a family hostage, now the cop pulls over the original poster which means the car behind now goes without a check, he then later kills that family and we hear about it on the 10' o'clock news. Do you think people will ever know that it was because of a no front plate distracting the officer? Fate is a powerful thing. We are all bounded by it, and if I want to get into my Camaro without front plates I am going to risk getting a stupid ticket, because people do other things in this world that are so bad, it is nothing to be compared with. I feel it is something that should be flexiable. If I say to an officer it is a show/muscle car driven for pleasure only and has won trophies in the past at car shows. Do you think he will let me go without a ticket? A good cop would, an asshole cop would give me a ticket. I have police officer pulls me over just to ask questions about the car. They love it.

I'm not saying that not having the plate isn't illegal (and if you get a ticket for it, it's your own fault), but when resources are finite, there has to be better prioritizing than this, unless New York City really has degenerated to the point that the ticket revenue is a bigger concern to them than the threat of terrorism.
