That 118 thing on 18's is total crap I have the 18's and had it up to 140. If your car is dying off at 118 something must be off because mine can hit 140 no issue.

So you have an LS with 18's on it and you were able to do 140??? On the track I assume, because we don't talk about this kind of stuff when it's on the street here...

Have you done anything to your car? A tune or modified it? I find that pretty strange? Especially since those tires you're rolling on are not rated for those speeds. You were probably one rock away from a roller coaster ride, and you would not have liked it. Not trying to be a d!ck, I'm just curious.

Completely stock. I know they are only R-rated and I wasn't up at that speed for more than a few seconds... But those vehicles are definitely not locked in at 118... I know the V6 mustangs were locked at 118 (4.0 Models) bu the 3.7's are able to hit 146 before fuel cut off.

The V6 Camaro, which is a 6 speed Manual, isn't locked at 118, if it was I would have drove it right back to the dealer and gotten my Mustang Back. Nothing I hate worse than a car built for one speed being locked off at another.

I don't see how your LS could go over 118 unless it has had the limiter tuned out, If a manufacturer puts tires on that are rated for a certian speed they would have to factory limit it to that speed or face major lawsuits in case of tire failure at high speed.. ALL the non RS V6's are speed limited to 118. the RS V6's will make it to 155 before the limiter kicks in...HMM something fishy here.... Did you buy this car new or used? maybe the previous owner had the limiter tuned out....

The Governor called me via Onstar when I hit 110 and told me to not even THINK about going over 155. He said something about an attack helicopter then I hung up on him...

Maybe it's a 2011 thing to compete with the Mustang V6.. I don't know
But I never plan on testing my 2010 at that speed, No need for me to prove anything to anyone, especially myself. I did it when I was younger and more foolish than I am now...

Which kind of official recorded top speed are you looking for? The type of speed recorded at Bonneville Salt Flats or the one the officer wrote on the speeding ticket.
