I doubt it will be standard, at least for the 1st MY it's offered. I can see it being standard on the 2LT and 2SS trims for the '12 MY though.

Wouldn't say I dislike it, but HUD is no big deal for me. I sure wouldn't pay extra for it.

I had HUD on my 98 Gran Prix GT and before I leased the car, I thought it was a waste of $300 but it is really cool. They have to put a different windshield in it (that has a reflective coating on the inside) I found that out when I had to replace the windshield due to a stone chip & crack). It is worth it.

I really don't understand the difficulty of adding the HUD to the Camaro for this MY. The technology is already there. Nothing new has to be developed. All modern cars receive the same basic information from the computer. The only work that would need to be done is design the mount for the projector. From the time the announced it would be included to production, I find it hard to think of what problems they could have run into...unless of course the whole issue is $$$ related.

EDIT: I apologize if they already told us why it was delayed...I haven't searched much about it yet.

I can't stand HUD. I turn it off every time I drive our C6. It's a nuisance to me. I can look at a gauge just as quick and I really don't plan on going 150 on a track. The Ambient lighting issue is starting to worry me, but not enough to hold out for it.

I have it my Corvette, it is terrific, especially when really working the car. In my XLR it shows a lot less info, and is needed a lot less, but I still like it. Hopefully it becomes an option later for the Camaro.

Seriously? So a Vette isn't about performance and going fast? Vettes include nice tech gadgets as well as creature comforts.

While I like the HUD on the street, its WAY to distracting for the track, and I've been 150+ in a race car. Many race cars don't even have speedometers, and in reality the only thing any race driver really would want in their face is some sort of tach/shift light, everything else is a second thought when you are going 110%.

Any time I ever ran my Vette as well I always shut it off, if the race drivers wanted it they would have had it by now.
