Absolutely! I am almost dying trying to force myself not to buy one. I've been trying not to buy a car until I could see, sit in, drive a Camaro, but I'm really loving the new Z. Plus they will offer VPP pricing on it which is less than invoice.

Don't forgot, if you put even one turn into this equation, the Z kills the Camaro. The Z will be way more fun to drive through the twisties.

Don't count on that. It is lighter but I think the difference will be about equivalent to the difference in 0-60 for the two cars -- the Camaro having a slight edge on the straights and the Z having a slight edge on the turns.

Did you think that there could of been a possablity that the driver of the G8 was a bad driver?

Edmonds review of the challenger SRT and RT in the 1/4 mile sucked, and alot slower than what the actual 1/4mile time is with the Challenger.

If you like twisties fun, get a Mini... more twisty fun for less money.

4.6 is the number from GM. Edmunds was actually only able to get 5.2 (4.9 with a 1ft rollout) in the GXP. Edmunds (probably the same driver as the GXP) got 5.1/4.9 for the 0-60 in the Z. Difference is negligble.

I have thought about that as well. My Wife used to have a Mini, so I am familiar. The Mini is just too damn slow for my tastes. The Camaro and 370z will beat even the John Cooper Works Mini's.

I have full confidence the SS will either beat or equal the Nissan in every category, including handling.

But that's a tough pill to swallow for many here....so I'll finish that off with "time will tell".

They are two very different cars...I wouldn't care if the Z is faster. It's a tiny little two seater. If I wanted a two seater I'd get a Vette.

Dont be so sure about that. I can't find any nurburgring numbers for the 370z but if it handles like the 350z the Camaro could beat it. The Camaro V8 ran 8:20 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...apointed+times and the 350 ran 8:26 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordsch...test_lap_times.

No doubt the 370z will be TONS of fun to drive, the Camaro will put up a fight and could be just as fun/fast on a track. I really like the 370 but the lack of a back seat and storage room pushes me away from it. Plus I love the V8 rumble.

You sum it all up pretty well. The 370z will definitely outperform the 350z, so it would be very interesting to see a Ring time.

Man, I am so torn on which one of these cars to get. If I can wait until the Camaro comes out and it comes close to handling like the Z, I will probably go Camaro for the reasons you listed. I would like to have more room, back seat, and storage space. But, performance is more important to me, so I'll have to wait and see.
