Good luck to her!

The key to speed is powdered graphite on the axle shafts.

At my last position with my company in New York, I actually had direct access to a nice model sized wind tunnel...and a water table as well. Oh how those could come in handy now...

Now that would be AWESOME! I've seen videos of adult derbies where no-holds-bar, and they use compressed gas bottles to propel the car down the track.

as long as the car doesn't weigh over 5.00oz. And trust me, it will weight right up to 5.00oz as possible!

Girls are so much fun! Honestly, inside I was fuming at the ultrasound when I found out mine wasn't the Junior I had dreamed of...but the way little girls look up to their dad is unbeatable. I can't wait to do stuff like this in a couple years!!!

File the wheels so the have less of a contact patch to improve rolling resistance.

He use more of a tear drop shape rather than a car shape. The windshield portion will provide some drag.

This year's car is complete! The race will be this Saturday. I'm not sure how well it'll do this year - I'm usually pretty conservative with my expectations anyway, but it does make a funny "tick" sound as it rolls across the kitchen table...so I don't know. But, we're ready to have a good time at the race.

My friends, I present to you

The Candy Car

The shape of the car, the paint scheme, it was all my daughter's idea / plan, and she did a great deal of work on the car. I'm so proud of her.
