Aftermarket Ford parts are just generallly cheaper than GM or Mopar aftermarket parts. Mopar parts are almost always alot more than Ford or GM aftermarket parts. Ford keeps good relationships with alot of those companies too. It really says something when they release a brand new engine (the new 5.0), and before the car is even being sold there are superchargers available for it.

The Camaro does have limited visibility, which makes it feel big. In 4 test drives, I could never really get used to it. The Mustang feels smaller and more nimble partly for that reason.

As for the interior, I'm neutral on the Camaro's interior. Also, are you looking at a 1SS vs base Mustang, or 2SS vs premium Mustang? To me, the premium Mustang has a nicer interior, but the Premium trim level includes a more significant interior upgrade than a 2SS vs. 1SS (plus I checked the box for a further interior upgrade option beyond that). Since you are looking to pay in the $28k range, I'd assume you're looking at the base trims, and in base trim the Mustang interior is actually far cheaper looking than the Camaro's.
Nice unbiased post.

Visibility isn't really that bad...but parallel parking is a challenge.

Last month in downtown Philly, I was admiring a black SS. The owner happened to come out to leave, and drove up the bumper on the parked car in front while trying to get out. I was like "DAMN".

I actually thought the visibility wasn't bad at all when I first drove it, I went from a saturn 4 door with LOTS of visibility. The interior in my opinion is NOT cheap feeling at all. If you go with the 2SS the leather is really nice.

How do ya'll feel about them. I'm going next week to test drive an SS and a 5.0 GT.

I know americanmuscle .com is exclusive for mustangs, I was just wondering if theres a good website exclusive for the new Camaro's or not. So if anyone knows a good website for Camaro stuff let me know. I know JRE Performance is a nice website for a broad range of cars. I definitely want to put an aftermarket cam in. Anyone seen this Camaro? I'm sure some of you have.

I can't get past the ugly taillights of the new mustang. They ruined that car with those ugly things.

You came onto a Camaro forum and asked that? Really? Makes me wonder what the guys on the Mustang forum said.

Camaro. Hands down. The Chuck's Tuner video is one of the videos that hooked me when I first started viewing Youtube camaro postings. I think that is what a car SHOULD sound like from the factory!!! What an awesome job Chuck's did. As for Mustang...it is a darn fine car too. I can tell you that last week I was driving down Interstate 5 here in Los Angeles area and out of the blue a small ricer full of 20+ year olds pulls alongside and all of a sudden the cameras pop up and they are photographing my car as I am driving!!! You don't see that happen to too many STOCK cars just driving down the road. Camaro is my choice... and by the way...I have traditionally been a FORD guy.

Also had problems deciding between Camaro and Mustang.

But after seeing both cars in real life. Decision was easy.
Camaro was overall much better looking and didnt have any disaster flaws.
Mustangs tail still looks bad. Also interior reminded me 1990 euro Fords.

Oh and the markings and huge texts. Does people really need to see that this car is a Mustang.
People see Camaro and they know its Camaro without any huge text or markings.

When i was going to trade in my challenger i went and looked at a 2010 mustang GT in grabber blue with all the fancy exterior options and black rims, color matched interior ect... very nice car. i tried walking out the doors but the OWNER didnt want me to leave so he threw a plate on it, threw me the keys and said take it for the day, i want you in this car... whats that? you want me to beat the hell outta your car for free? sure! so i drove it for a few hours and i was impressed dont get me wrong, but i didnt really feel like i was sitting in a sports car, yes it had power (although i thought first gear was about as fast as me getting out of bed for work in the morning) but it didnt feel all that sporty to me. took it back, said thanks but no thanks, test drove a camaro and i never had another thought about a mustang ever again.

to each his own i guess...
test drive them both
do some research, get on a mustang forum too and dabble around on that too
its a big purchase so make sure its the right one for you.

Ive test driven a 2011 Mustang GT. To put this nicely, I wasn't impressed at all. The 6-speed manual tranny in the Mustang feels weird. Like I said im going next week to test drive a camaro. Im about 104% sure im going with the camaro.

I have gone on a Mustang forum and asked the same question, lets just say they praise the 5.0 as being a gods engine. Im sorry, but IMO the "new" 5.0 isn't the return of "A Legend". If it was the return of a legend it would be a conventional engine with a Carb. All it is to me is the return of a 302 CID engine, thats it.

It will be mostly what I can afford, but Ill make sure I can afford to get a Camaro, and if I can't, Ill just save up a little more money for a down-payment.

Oh Nice! I wish I was that close to someone who could do custom work like he does.

Thanks I love this Aqua Blue Metallic!!
Yes I have seen the Synergy Green in person, it's like a green version of my color very dynamic in the way it changes with different light. It's not for me but I like the color none the less. I like Inferno Orange too for the same reason but not for me. My mustang was Electric green metallic, it was bright especially after a good wax, but not as near as bright as the Synergy Green.

If you are asking about the first video of his 2010 that's the factory GM ground effects, his pipes actually turn own before his rear axel so you cant see his pipe through the holes. His car sounds great in person BTW.

But OP test drive them both multiple times and go with what fits you best...

Good Luck
This is very true, Ford and Chevy sound very different from one another especially the difference between a Mustang and a Camaro. I like the sound of both, the mustang sound is more unique IMHO But thats due to the dual DOHC? From what I understand. That being said I have always preferred the Chevy sound.
