Wouldn't GM only allow dealers that have good "marks" to sell ZL1s? I'm not stating that as a fact, but that's how I would run my business.

If I end up going for one of these, I can assure you that I won't be paying very much markup (if any at all).

Don't forget, we now have the big 3 selling high performance cars. You don't want to turn away someone who has the kind of money to be buying one of these in the first place.

$.02

I'm first on the list at my dealer and will be paying MSRP. Refuse to pay markups!

They can't. Franchise laws state a company can't limit cars to any dealers except under conditions of volume. So...if dealer 'A' sold 4x the Camaros last year as Dealer 'B', then dealer 'A' will get more ZL1s when allocation agreements are laid out.

The worst they can do is "discourage" mark-ups.....

ZL1 should be ALOT less then the GT500.
Lets face it, price is high for the GT500 because that motor is in only ONE car.
Chevy is using a motor thats already paid for from the Caddy.
They should undercut the GT500 by a couple of grand.

have you read the spec of the ZL1?? I don't think It'll sell less than the GT500.

And I think the GT500 is reasonably priced.

ZL1 is going to be built on the same line. nothing tricky here. GM wants to SELL cars. Sure when the car 1st comes out dealers will play games and make the car scarce. Once thats done they will want to push cars. The LSA is not hand built. PUSH PUSH PUSH..

If they want a niche car and sell 5K a year well then i'm wrong.
If they want to push 10K they will price it right and still make MONEY.
People forget, there is alot of profit in this car. Its a modified G8, Camaro wasn't a clean sheet.
No reason this car can't be 47K.

Im still fairly young and I agree with most of the pricing here... 50-60K out the dealer door..... And thinking about insurance, plates, plus that 50-60k.... ITs not happening for me. But I'd be glad to take someones used 2010 SS that got traded to the dealer for a ZL1
