I feel like the "not 18 years old anymore" comment has to do with the moral judgement of owning an auto versus a manual, i.e. if the Camaro is a true sports coupe/muscle car, it may/may not be sacrilege to buy one with an automatic, or perhaps says something about the owner's masculinity.

As an adult, I can say that either is a great choice. Personally, I chose an M6 car because I still find shifting my own gears fun; even if it there is slight inconvenience in traffic, or when driving with a beverage in the cup holder. I've found that my manual trans cars have cost less in maintenance and have fewer transmission problems later in life.

It's all personal preference. Test drive both, get what you like, and have no regrets.

I cant add much here as all have valid points. Just get what best suits you and your driving conditions. I have an auto and it has no issues and in sport mode it responds very well and shifts fast and no grabbing gears.I have a pinched nerve now in my right shoulder and stick for me was becoming a real pain as all my driving is stop and go L.A. traffic. 450000 miles of manuals in 30 years and thats enough for me!

Automatic is for the V6 cars.

Just my personal opinion.

Get a Black Camaro 2LT RS.

Maybe if you divide the number of cylinders by 4 and have something left over it has to go in the auto because there's no room in the manual tranny???
