He said his summer tires did that a lot more than his all season tires.
May also have to do with the much larger wheels.

I will say that I owned an '06 Mustang GT and it definitely felt pretty bouncy on a rough road I drive on the way home. I am not sure what they did with the '10 and '11 models but they definitely improved the way they handle. The same road I drive through where I used to feel hop in my old car is smooth in the '11.

According to Tire rack, a 2011 Mustang GT has 255/40 19 all the way around. They are slightly wider up front, and a bit narrower in the back. I have always understood that wider tires make the car track worse and bounce around more.

Also, another thing to consider is alignment. The more toe-in you have on the front, the straighter the car will track, but the worse it will turn. So, if the Mustang has a little more toe-in than the camaro, it will track better. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case, with the Camaro being a bit bigger and heavier, Chevy may very well have given it a slight toe-out to turn better, but making it more "twitchy". I haven't seen the alignment specs for either car.

So you own a 11 gt and a 10ss. . . and you owned an 03 cobra and an sti? Seems like every thread about another car, you've owned one. That's a pretty awesome list of previous vehicles, I'm jealous.

STill lovin the car. now that it's getting some miles under it's belt it is starting to feel faster. much like my camaro did after about 6 thousand miles. i'd love it if i could have the best features of both cars in one car. i think GM has better options and features while ford has a better drivetrain( at least in stock as built form) a tune is coming soon and i hope to be in the low twelves then.

I wonder what your Camaro would have run if you ran it in March conditions?

The Camaro times were from July and the Mustang times were from March.

12.8 is a great time.
