true and no company is going to build a car and stand by it after it hit the track. The computers in these things these days can tell them everything

My car is a super duper Camaro with more HP and TQ than a ZL1 but still isn't a super car. Agreed, 100,000 miles is strictly a marketing ploy for most people. My neighbor is a traveling salesman and he trades in his suburbans every two years with those kind of miles but his 2SS probably won't have 15,000 miles on it in 5 years

I would guess any car you probably have a built in warranty cost of 3-5 grand, I don't think i have had that much warranty repair to equal that. But that said car companies wouldnt offer them it they werent making money
While there are aftermarket warranties that qualify, GM warranties are not 'scams' by any stretch of the imagination. They are what they say they are, and I've never had any problem with a GM warranty denying a claim.

GM basically covers your powertrain for 5 years, unless you put extreme miles on the vehicle (that's where the 100K limit kicks in). That's really a lot of free protection when you think about it.

wrt extended warranties, a lot of people would rather pay $200-250/year to insure they don't incur a major expense in the 6, 7 or 8 years they own the car. To me its just another type of insurance. Do you also think health insurance is a scam?

thanks for filling me on things I didn't know. But anyways I wasn't reffering to it as a scam in the matter that they wont cover you. It's scam how they advertise this big 5 year/100,000 warranty and the fact is you will never use it all. Most people maybe get 8-12 out of a car a year. Most camaros probably never hit more than 2-3k a year. I guess the qty not the quality is a scam.

And it's a different issue but yes health care is scam too, all insurance is racket.

Your dealer is making an educated guess but don't be upset if it turns out to be wrong.

My dealer had been truthful in statements to me before I bought my 2011 Camaro.

It is repeat business that will lead to a successful business.

Although, things can change but he clearly stated, that even he was surprised that GM was staying with the 100k warranty.

Also, I had 320k miles on my 1994 Camaro before I gave it to my niece. I averaged about 20k miles year.

Pretty bold for GM to give the ZR1 (and potentially the ZL1) a 100K powertrain warranty. ZR1's probably get hard miles on them.

Not really. The majority of them sit in the owner's garages, only being driven when it's nice out. That's the thing about high end Vettes, most of them don't get beat on.

You know the funny thing, I bought my car with the 3yr/bumper to bumper 5yr/100,000 mile right? Then I sold my Camaro to a local dealer, then just recently bought it back a week ago and then since they 'GM Certified' it, it came with a 4yr/bumper to bumper 5yr/100,000 standard. That makes no sense what so ever. I got a better deal re-buying my car back from the dealer, then when I first bought it.

They gave you an extra year for buying it twice because of the extra money you spent trying to stimulate the local economy and trying to single handily revive the country.
