Fbodfather Answers a Question ...from another forum...

I don't think Scott will mind me copying his words from another forum. The question was:

"When should we be expecting any relevant launch info?"

Here's how Scott answered that:

"Actually, we talk about the issue of telling you more -- constantly!

Some of you have heard me say (after you ask me a pointed question that I cannot answer.....) -- "....Have you ever played poker? If you have, did you show your hand before it was time to?......." -- and so you see, we've been very close mouthed about where we are with the new Camaro....because you see, we do not want Chrysler or Ford or Toyota or any other competitor to know much about this car........this business has gotten to be one of the most competitive businesses the world has ever known......and all one needs to do is look at the financial statements of the domestics to see that this is, indeed, serious.

Methinks you will shortly hear about stuff -- perhaps weekly......some of it tidbits -- some of it not........

........we KNOW you want to know as much as possible.........and we're thrilled that you do -- because it tells us that passions run high for this great car.

Patience, my friends -- patience. (and yes, I know most of you have been patient for many years!)"

Yeah i read that the other day...i think it's extremely cool that Scott keeps in contact with everyone and lets them know they aren't forgotten about. We(GM fans) really do have it pretty good. I will admit there are days where i just lose my patience and just wanna get on here on every single thread just type "I WANT SOME NEW INFO". But i have to remember the saying "good things come to those who wait".

I think this auto-show season is going to be HUGE for the new Camaro. My guess is that we'll see the new production version at the Detroit show (where else?!) and they'll start leaking pictures sometime in October...

In any case, the base Camaro should be revealed pretty soon, but I wouldn't be surprised if they held back on the SS specs until late next year. That way they have a chance to see how the Challenger/Mustang specs look, and they can decide weather or not to trump them.

GM has all the parts to make a 500hp Camaro if they so choose, and I think they have to decide how far to go when tackling their competitors. It _may_ be worth crushing them, it may not be (for $$$ reasons). We'll have to see.

I'm not expecting any new info until Late October, early November timeframe...

We have it really, really good. The first car off the line should be given to Scott.

when you say 'good things', do you mean Camaro

? Cause 'good thing' would be an understatement.

well golly -- I agree! (about the first car going to me.......

) -- however, I'm quite certain that it will go into the GM Historic Collection (where it belongs ....)

If I get one of the first 100, I'll be a happy guy!
