I almost settled for less, but about a week or so before I ordered I got a piece of advice from a friend's son, He said "Order it exactly the way you want it". That lead to a couple of changes and I got exactly what I wanted.

I had to wait months to order my summit white SS as the color was not initally available. Ordered in June and took delivery August 21 2009.
It's to big an expense to settle for anything but exactly what you want- imo.

ABM, 2SS, Manual Trans, white Rally Stripes (dealer threw in for free), no sunroof, no optional wheels, non RS......I wouldn't have changed a thing even if I ordered it (which I didn't ).

If yiou haven't already, do what I did and check inventories to see if any other dealers have exactly what you're looking for. Usually dealers can swap cars in inventory, and depending on the dealer and the distance, they won't even charge you anthing extra. I found my '10 SS that way and that's how my wife found the Trailblazer (optioned out the way she wanted it) in 2004.

Originally I wanted a 1LT with the C&C package and the upgraded radio. It would have been nice to have other things, but I'd have been happy if that had worked out. Though I wasn't even sure I could afford THAT.

BUT, I ended up with an upgrade I got everything and more that I could have wanted and I'm more then happy to have paid (and been able to afford) more.

Looking back I prob still would have been happy with the one I ordered if I had never laid eyes on my baby. No way I could go back now. My is too strong.

You know - that's a good point. I would have been happy with the one I originally ordered -- but I am MUCH MUCH happier having everything under the sun that I thought I could only dream about.

I bought my car in July of '09. I ordered it with the body colored engine cover, Hurst shfiter and high wing spoiler. Unfortunately they were on constraint and had to be removed from my order. I'm not upset about missing out on the engine cover, still bummed out about the shifter not being installed, but the high wing spoiler pissed me off.

I'm thrilled that it is available now, but it is going to cost me much more than the factory installed price to have my deck lid filled, repainted and the spoiler installed to get the look I wanted when I ordered my car 2 years ago. Plus, it isn't the same color as the factory GFX, and those have to be painted as well now.

With the issues the M6 has had with the clutch pedal sticking to the floor on hard launches and the slow to engage clutch, I think I dodged a bullet on that one.

This is cutting into my S/C fund.

Me too. Was looking for a new car for over a year, kept coming back to the Camaro. Once my local dealer had one one the showroom floor my husband and I spent two hours going over everything. Knew more than the sales guy did. Talked over with my husband over lunch, he said "it's your car, if you want one order what you want". Went back to the dealer, ordered her May 3, 2009, delivered August 9th. Negotiated some options that my husband want (he was right of course), haven't regretted one thing. Love my car!

I did exactly the same, and then also chose yellow.

I made no concessions, I hate leather and got exactly what I wanted from the factory. The only thing that I wanted from the 2SS was the USB port, but I can get that installed at a dealer if I'm so inclined.

I got exactly what I wanted with my IOM 2SSRS with the Hood and Hockey Stripes, I built my Camaro on the computer months before I went to the dealership and then when I went to the dealership I knew exactly what I wanted when I sat down with my salesman and ordered my 2010, my Camaro is absolutely awesome.

The dealer had exactly what i wanted on the lot the day I came in to buy. The only difference was I wanted black, and the one on the lot was red.

Wish mine was a manual and not an automatic. The wife can't drive a manual so it was kind of a compromise point. She still has never driven the car one year later. Really miss my manual.
