MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SEATS INSTALLED BY A TECH SO THEY'RE DONE CORRECTLY (They'll also show you)...

Check with police, fire departments and hospitals for techs and install assistance.

Recaro convertibles WILL tether/latch on to your lower anchoring points in the back seat when in the rear facing position, and will latch/tether to the upper anchor point, and lower anchor points when forward facing.

will see if i can fit our recaro convertible rear facing and take pics for you...

If you can't find a rear facing seat that fits, guess you just have to use mommy's car.

You may have misunderstood my statement. With Britax, you're able to tether the upper strap to the front passenger seat bracket and use the LATCH
lower anchor points all while rear facing

probably not your color theme but you get the point.

Wow, I'm extremely glad this thread was started. At the risk of being crucified on these forums I'll state that I read the included documentation with my seat and I don't recall seeing anything about expected wiggle room after being installed. So I clipped it in and definitely made it snug, but I am sure that it could easily move more than the 1" of acceptable movement that I've since read about (1/2" for personal comfort as stated above). Thank you for the safety tips and seat recommendations.

Anyone using one of the docking car seats? I have a Britax Chaperone infant seat with the dock.

I won't be back in Miami with my car for a month or so, but we have one of the bases installed in the Murano, which obviously works fine. My wife is short, so she doesn't require a ton of foot room.

And remember that water bottle that weighs about a pound???? At 60 MPH it weighs about 60 pounds and in a collision can cause injury and or death.
I agree with most of this but do not totally agree with the 1/2" Every manufacturer is slightly different. Example. I know for a fact at my local fire dept i had to convince them they were installing many Britax seats WRONG into peoples cars. Always follow the manufacturers rules and guidlines. Two different model Britax i own specifically state no more than 1" side to side movement and DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. This can cause a failure due to too much stress.

My local fire dept was installing way too tight and even flipping the booster plate the wrong way because they were trained that the seating angle should be less than what Britax recommends for this very specific seat. Britax is one of the safest brands on the market and it has been tested and proven this way. Anyways, be sure to read your manual and pay attention regardless of who is installing the seat.

Britax frontier 85 works very well in the Camaro when used in harness mode. Does not work so well in Booster mode. Simply too large. Britax Parkway SGL work great in the Camaro. You will not be able to use the cupholders due to the rear seat surface bolsters.

The best car seat for your car is the one that doesn't go inside of your camaro.

I'm also trying to find out what will fit in my Camaro as I'm going to become a father in May and need something that will work rear facing to start with.

This. This is the one I have also. The red bar on the bottom you can flip and use on a plane. Besides it looks sick as hell especially in a camaro. My 3yr no wsays i get to ride in my race seat in my race car. LOL

Another member on the forum pointed me in the direction of the SGL. I bought one, brought it to the dealer and it fit like a glove. It's still slightly difficult to buckle since the seat belts are pointed toward the seat and the seat is slightly against the female connector, but at a very slight angle it makes it a bit easier. The other booster we tried was much more difficult to get in. I think it was a Graco or Evenflo.

Either way- it may take a little trial and error to get the right seat in a car like this. I think the SGL should work fine though.

Rear Facing Seat Works

I have the chicco key fit 30 in rear facing seat and it anchors in well. I can easily reach baby from behind passenger seat which is a nice perk in the camaro. My husband definitely can't reach her in his avalanche. Also I can get the car seat in and out of the base easily enough from the passenger side. The passenger seat can click back into place if the seat is moved all the way forward and sitting straight up. Not very comfy for a passenger but not terrible either. Just ordered the Recaro ProSport car seat because my daughter is ready to be forward facing. Will update with how that one fits once received.

I have a 6 month old son and I have a Graco snugride 30 since day 1. I tried a rear facing convertible one but have a hell of a time getting him in or out. The Graco is latches/unlatches to the plastic base. It's MUCH easier! My wife is only 5'1 so she has enough room in the front thankfully.

Please dont go cheap.. its your kids safety on the line that being said all manufacturers do have to meet certain requirements I have a 4 yr old that has a graco convertible that is strapped into the sierra with all latches and anchor points that never moves amd bought a much more lighter slimmer one from walmart rather inexpensive for the camaro for weekend driving that allos the person in the front to slide back more than enough
