It's a nice compromise, holds a little less fluid, but at least you have some!. I installed one myself last week on a 2011 SS and it took me about 30 minutes doing it for the first time. (I'm not used to getting my hands dirty around here.)

It is designed to be sort of universal in that in can be placed anywhere you can find room and manage to bolt it securely in place. That's why we provided a much longer length of tubing than most people will use, in case you have an alternate location you want to try.

I installed the washer bottle, scoop, and heritage grill today. If I may offer a few bits of advice to those putting on the washer bottle.

1) Mount the fill tube piece INSIDE your intake. If you mount it outside the intake box, there is no easy way to route the fill tube to the washer bottle because the bottle is directly below the intake.

This is not true. See my install thread at the link below.

Yes, I thought about doing it the way you showed, but it meant routing that tube right next to the radiator (I didn't know how much heat that tube could take) and I was worried about it rubbing on metal at the bottom of the intake and developing a kink because it has to take a pretty sharp turn at that point. It is possible, but I guess I was just saying it's easier to get a straight shot to the reservoir if you put it inside the intake.

No worries, it's like Paul said, it is a universal assembly. How you implement it is only up to the creativity of the installer and gravity.

It could go almost anywhere as long as the fill cap is higher than the reservoir. I was only trying to make sure that folks looked at where they want to route the tube before drilling holes to mount the cap assembly.

I have been waiting to get a scoop because I didn't want to lose my washer bottle.

That is exactly right. We included an longer section of tubing than is really necessary so that people would not be limited if they came up with something we didn't think of. I like the way you did it, it looks clean.

I just received my CAI Inc. from you guys at Apex. Does the intake mean I will loose my tank? Was wondering if the CAI Inc one came with one. I just have not gotten around to opening it yet. Was curious was before when I had my LT I had an Injen installed and it came with a tank.

Thanks

No, the CAI Inc system does not eliminate the washer tank. Adding the scoop to it does. Our washer tank kit is for those who either have or are adding the scoop.

Thanks for a great product!

Just a side note, I also did not have to trim the nub on my pump either. That was the hardest part we couldnt figure out what the heck we were supposed to cut off cuz it popped right in there!

As long as it seats properly in the grommet on the tank and then pops into place when you press it into the indented area on the tank it is all good.

Car pulls much harder now, and sounds different too...

So I definitely recommend it!

Thanks!

I would like to say APEX has super fast shipping, I placed my order on Friday evening and received it on Wednesday.
