I only hope it sits flush with the door when in the lock position. It isn't a problem for me, but for taller drivers sitting farther back I've heard those types of locks can poke into their arm when they're resting it on the door while cruising with the windows down.

Funny you post a thread about this. I was just thinking about it...trying to remember if it was "chromed" or not.

Do you drive a Cobalt Coupe or Sedan? Only reason I ask....this is one of the tiny things that bug me about mine. I have a small dent in my arm after cruising around...

I get that, but what I'm trying to say is my $25k HHR SS has them and my $40k+ SS Camaro will not. It's just funny how corners are cut on such small inexpensive details that really hurt the overall appeal.

Details make the interior of any car.

Your right. I forgot about that. That's going to take a while to get used to when I have the car.

I personally like the style on the VW Jettas. It has a red LED light where that button is....kind of looks like your alarm LED. I tried looking for a picture of it but didnt find it. If you guys know what I'm talking about.

i know what you mean... like on the c6 corvettes, how there's a red led right there on the door panel. that's because it's completely electronic (except the emergency release) there's no need for a manual stem to be there

I like them. Its probably cheaper to produce them also. Its like removing the passenger side key lock. A dealer freind said when they first starting doing that they were reallly hush hush about it.

I have a coupe, so the long door places the lock knob pretty far back, and I'm also short and like to sit straight up and closer to the wheel (the anti gangsta-lean, which makes me a rarity in the Los Angeles area). The knob is well behind my elbow and not a problem, but I've heard a few complaints from other people driving sedans with the knobs further forward and/or sitting further back so I know for some people it is an issue.
