![]() I think it's possible...only "possible", though. When they transplanted the LLT from the CTS into the Camaro LS, and LTs, we saw 29mpg in the Camaro versus 26 in the Caddy, and mildly increased power. This was due to a whole bunch of things, but breathing efficiency and aerodynamics were key players. Now, they've reworked the ZL1s aerodynamics for more down-force...but if it's more slippery at EPA test speeds among other changes...I think the car could clear it. I would bet my lunch that a $1000-$1500 surcharge over the GT500 is a serious consideration for the Camaro team...if they can avoid it without compromising the cars performance, I'm sure they'll try their best. And so I "keep the faith".

I realized that the ZL1 team has their work cut out for them on every aspect in the development of the car and performance is a top priority.
The GG tax is the trade-off for a top performing vehicle. All the oversees people seem to pay the inflated gas prices for very efficient vehicles as we do not. I believe one of the reasons we still don't know as much about the ZL1 is because they are still tweaking. Last edited by CamaroMiami; 07-27-2011 at 06:42 AM. |

Z4me, thanks for the insight about the ZL1 and the pictures. I am still on the fence about the automatic and most likely will not make a decision until game time. I really prefer the polished wheels over the black wheels so that will be an option along with the sunroof. The auto will be at least a $1500 option also and a possibility of an increased GG tax with the auto like the CTS-V. So I will have to wait to take a look at the entire picture before I order. But you and Scott have my interest piqued about the auto so I am keeping an open mind. Thanks again for your ZL1 input.
