I'm not taking anything way from that car, and they've made great improvements lately, but I'm not worried.
I agree. I will be in line for the new ZL1. I just hate how Chevy has been playing catch up for years now. I want to go back to the late 90's when F-bodys were ahead of the game. Ford's 4.6 could not do a thing until 03-04 cobras came out. I love the look of the ZL1 over the Shelby as well. Ive driven both a new 2011 2ss and now my brothers new 2011 5.0. Its all about personal preference. But I will say that new 5.0 SCREAMS on the top end.

They need to have some better tires on those cars to even be able to get the power on the ground, I don't understand why Ford continues to think those skinny tires are going to get them anywhere..
BTW. You shouldn't start your first thread with "flame on".

Why is that? I am a car enthusiast who can appreciate a fast car. It seems not too many people are like that on here.

I agree. LT1 through LS1 years were dominance. I grew up around then and it's kinda' of hard to have had to let that go when CAMARO took a little vacation. However, I'm not going to demenish what GM has accomplished with CAMARO. Considering how fast they put the car together, and have continued to improve the car after only a couple years proves to me they are committed. I never felt that commitment with the 4th Gen; probably because the writing was already on the wall from the beginning of that model, but they were a great value and that's what I loved about them.

I'm still not completely buying into all the 5.0 hooplah. It seems like it's geared to make up for a softer bottom end, and while the top end is cool, I prefer something I don't have to ring out. It's not like GM didn't have a 32-valve 5-liter V8 that rev'd to 7000 RPMs back in '90, so I'm just not all that impressed. I certainly respect them though.

Yeah - that was a little suspect, but I'm going to wait to see where this goes. We're there pics' of fatter tires on a GT500 a couple weeks ago? They were still below 3XX-series, though, no? I think I read 285 or 295s or something...

Rumormill says GM is working on a twin turbo V6 and V8. So, for what its worth they have something in mind for but most likley for the Corvette. Will GM through a TT V8 in a Camaro too...who knows? Only time will tell.

The more constructive criticism we can offer, the more they can have an opportunity to give us what we want. They want to give us what we want, so it's just a matter of all the numbers working out.

Wow, I think we have seriously got off course, I didn't want to debate which car was better, once both cars are produced and on the street we will tell. i just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what Ford was going to do.

I agree, I will b buying the best car no matter who makes it. I would prefer it to b a chevy tho.
