I innocently suggested that maybe she could have the mustang and i'd buy another car for myself. she liked that idea and so i went out looking at 2011 camaros. i was floored to see that both local dealers are charging 10 grand above msrp for these cars. I laughed at em and said there wasnt a snowballs chance in hell that i was gonna pay even MSRP not to mention some market adjustment. the salesman said that wasnt set in stone and i told him i wasnt even willing to buy from them at all now. essentially they are willing to bend somebody over as long as they dont know they are being bent over. i dont like dealers who operate like that.. anybody know a dealer on the west coast who sells at invoice or slightly above?
In Sept 2010, I went out and was actually looking at the new 2011 5.0 GT. Had a pre-order drawn up on a 2011 California Special in Hugger Blue. Out the door from factory I was looking at 33k. This was with the HIDs, 3.55's, and the CS package plus my discount.

I came back in January with money in hand thinking I would get the same deal on a 2011, especially with it only being a few months until the 2012's were out. I thought wrong.

I couldn't find a 2011 GT in the state of Indiana on any lot (new) for under 35k, very few places wanted to negotiate at all, and these were all auto cars for the most part. I talked to one dealer about the preorder I had, and they said it would be about 37k to produce at this time.

I kept looking at various cars for several weeks and finally managed to find 4 GT's within a 150 mile radius (basically all of Indiana, parts of Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky). At this time, I wasn't a member, just a lurker here so I didnt know about Becky or Anna...

The 4 cars I found were all around 35k..... but they all added crap I didn't want. Navigation, 19" wheels....etc etc... the markups were horrendous...

I found my Camaro for 31,200. About 2 weeks later...those same 2011 GT's dropped to like 32k because the 2012's were hitting the lots...

Keep looking, talk with Becky, and definitely best of luck...
