I like camaro for a different reason

I like Camaro for the exact same reason I like my current car.

It is completely Rebellious just to own it.

(Note: Racing it, or horsepower numbers are completely irrelevant to me. Musclecars, just in pure existence, being seen on any highway (with commuter cars) is enough to have bragging rights.)

Here is what is even funnier---->

When you are in a Clean looking musclecar, even the people who drive Porsches, BMW, Mercedes,

You can tell they don't want you stealing their thunder. (but your lower priced American car will easily do it!)

European sports cars lack style. They are conservative. On many levels, it is as if you want to be sure you are not noticed. Many a bwm owner pulls up to a stoplight only to see their identical car right next to them in the same color. How droll. I take pleasure every time I see that. It is like seeing someone who is wearing a 2000 dollar suit, but no one in the room can tell, or even knows, or even cares. (and of course, again this is laughable. )

Lastly:
YOUNG people are attracted to cars like Mustangs or Camaros.
And people who are Young on the inside. I would like to think this is the real reason people like this car. It keeps you in touch with what you might have been thinking when you were a teenager.

I still find it difficult to believe this car is going to make it to production. Every instinct about this car should turn the auto world upside down and I can't wait to see the impact it will have firsthand. The car should successfully annoy conservative people (hahaha). But at the same time, it will force the other car makers to compete, which would (exponentially increase), the level of annoyance towards the conservative people. Which will successfully exponentiallly increase my laughter (Certain types of people are going to hate this car.)

Power to the young minds who will be redlining the engine of this car on a daily basis and causing complete uncontrollable mayhem in the streets !! Anarchy! Anarchy!

This is an exact emoticon of the typical driver of a Camaro -->

Everyone knows this. That's why I think it's going to be funny seeing a higher population of these people on the streets.

Hey I am in my new Camaro
Me too

What logically is going to happen with an increased number of this -> driving a car with 400 hp ?

Just guess

More noise polution. Though Corvette is an American Icon - and I will never contest that, Camaro has something more American about it, to me. it has more...this==>

which inevitably leads to this ===>

which gives me a big

Dragon, I think you hit the nail on the head about the Camaro with the .

The Camaro, especially the 5th gen, exudes testosterone and masculinity (and that's just standing still with the engine off). Get the car moving, with the engine rumbling like an angry bear, and that's just beyond words.

Man, I forgot to put that on my post..lol

Actually, the fuel economy issue really isnt that. I drove my SS every day, and averaged 21-22 mpg. Not bad for short trips back and forth to work, never seeing any highway speeds. When it was on the interstates 28-29 mpg wasnt uncommon at all. Im currently driving a s10 4x4 blazer with 1/3 the horsepower and it averages 16..now thats something to over.

Thanks for the warm welcome Dragon and TAG. You guys seem pretty damn cool over here, I may hang out for a while.

I used to jam metallica, mullet blowing in the wind with the T-tops open on my 3rd gen all the time baby!!

I remember the first camaros and mustangs. I was a Ford fan back then because my Dad was a Ford fan. When the '69 came out I was hooked. The '69 Z-28 had brute force but was classic and classy in design. This new one takes all the classic styling I remember and makes it a thousand times better. What is not to love. More horsepower than the original, better gas milage than the original, better handling than the original. All the other cars out there look so much alike, and some I just don't get. This style is more advanced retro than the Mustang and Challenger.

Personally... i fell for the camaro a long time ago, it's a car that looks good and at the same time has kinda of an evil glint in it's eye, like it'd rip your face off if you didn't treat it right.

It's imo the best of the muscle cars..... it's got the lot.

I fell in love with the new Camaro due to the Honesty of it's Design.

How many cars profess to be sports cars? But are not...
How many cars claim to be provocative? But look like white toast?...
How many cars claim to be fast? But can't handle a couple burnouts?...

Ever since I started having an interest in cars, I have always been drawn to cars that reflect honesty in their design. If your a sports car, then be one. If your a hot-hatch, then look like one. If your a truck, look like a truck.

I HATE cross over SUV's (from a design standpoint) because they are trying to be too many things to too many people... they are lost.

The Camaro has always been the People's Sports Car.. something that the average Joe could afford to buy, and afford to drive (and then fix!).

The new Camaro is an unaplogetically masculine sports car that reflects the people that drive the car, and the great history and legacy of its past.

The new Camaro just looks fast, and then (to back itself up) it IS fast... real fast. Not I'm-an-economy-car-with-a-stupid-turbo kind of fast... not I'm-a-chick-car-with-a-slightly-larger-V6 kind of fast... It's an I'm-packing-6+liters-of-classic-American-small-block-that-can-run-all-day-at-180mph-and-laugh-at-you fast. That's honesty folks.

Men drive real sports cars... don't try and tell me different. I have been driving fast cars for most of my life, and NEVER have I had a women pull up next to me at a stop light and rev the engine to get something started. People say the new Camaro is too macho to succeed. I say the design is perfect... it will capture the people who want it the most. Men.

The fact that I _could_ actually own this car.. and it could be faster than any Ferrari or Lambo with FACTORY designed parts is Amazing. The fact that GM is willing to spend the time to help its customers improve their cars in JUST the way they want is great.

Finally, I love America... I love when we win, when we succeed, when we kick some a$$. All else being equal, I'll buy American just so we can continue to do all of the above.

(I also love Australia for designing such a kick a$$ platform for us to enjoy, oh, and their chic's are hot and their beer isn't bad either).

These are just a few of my reasons for falling in Love with the new Camaro, and I seem to find new ones each day!

You sure you want to eliminate a potentially large buyer-base? Women may be slightly intimidated about driving 400+ ponies....but I'm sure there will be more than a few that purchase V6's or (possible) base V8's.

Also, I think the numbers are something like 50/50 ratio of Women to men who buy Stangs...I know, I know, Mustang. But still...

Oh, and +1 on the Lambo thing.
