Not entirely true...

I have a 2006 Ram 2500 diesel with the Big Horny package... pretty decent size truck I think. Well it come with tow hooks in the front bumper...

So my wife and I are in Maine last month and I am parked on the street while she is cashing out at the restaurant. I went back to the truck for some reason or another... Well I am sitting in the truck with my head looking down and all of a sudden WHAM... I look up and here is a BRAND SPANKIN NEW Audi A8L... about a $100,000 car backed square into me. Now there was NO ONE in front of him so why he was backing up .

So I get out and hes an older guy... 60s and just goes SHIT... looks at my truck and says "my fault my fault, are you ok?" So I am fine and I told him I know my truck is fine but fear his car would not have done so well... sure enough, tow hook right though the bumper... RIGHT NEXT TO THE SENSOR!

He was with his whole family so either they were yacking or whatever. I felt really bad for the guy... I inspected the truck better after he left... it did leave a tiny mark where her rode up on the bumper but whatever... its a truck. I am sure his day was much worse than mine!

Maybe they were trying to make sure the car was in the spot.

Have you left the parking lot yet?

I think you were in front of him, so your car would have had to go into the drink first.

Yep. Some people seem to think owning a Camaro entitles them to park where ever & however they want, but everyone else has to park correctly and at least 2 spaces away from the Camaro.

I actually pulled up that close to the silver Camaro. We were on a ferry crossing the Ohio River.

i'm not sure i see the problem.

you'd have a heart attack if you lived in nyc.. bumpers are treated as parking guides... we're the city the bumper badger/bumper buddy etc was created for.

on a side note - being a fellow camaro - i agree that he was just being funny.

With my jeep - i once had a fellow jeeper park his front right tire ON my front left tire (which i left cut, so it was sticking out) - with the result of his truck "flexing" it's suspension.

I came out - got a big laugh - took a picture.. and then beeped my horn a few times until he came out so i could pull out without damaging his jeep. we wound up getting along, and he's a regular at trail rides now.

yes - these cars are our babies.. but "omg he parked so close" is being a little too coddling, IMO.

To be more frank - stop behaving like a bmw owner.

if your car is not hurt, walk - or drive - away and maybe next time, you'll park further out.

Be pro-active, not re-active.

Who me? I'm not the one who opens cut-outs next to ricers.

Have you heard Todd's car with his new cam? Sounds pretty good.

Yes, you!

Haven't heard Todd's car yet. I'm driving over to IPS tomorrow to have my new wheels put on my car and I'm going to stop by his place on my way home to have a listen.
