Ok.....received the second Metra kit from Crutchfield and this one was also missing the DDIN brackets....WTH is going on??!! I called Crutchfield and they were totally surprised that two kits in a row would be missing the brackets. SOoooooo, they are gonna send me a 3rd, but they are going to open and check it to ensure that the brackets are there. Wish me luck!!!

On the flipside, I went ahead and wired everything up and installed the AVH-P4300DVD and everything works fine. Climate control and all the functions are working perfect. Radio sits fine in the hole, but is still lacking the brackets for a secure fit. Once I get them, I will pull it back out and attach them, then completely done. I didn't cut anything in the radio well, but it was a bitch stuffing all them wires back there. AND, attaching the parking brake wire was a MFr!! There wasn't much room to play in near the E-brake.

Unfortunately, I was unable to utilize the existing XM tuner...so I have to install the Pioneer XM Tuner that I got. I already ran the wiring and just need to find a spot for the box and a location for the small antenna.

Kunihiro, it seems like the foam pad underneath the passenger footrest is glued to the rug. Did the installer separate it from the rug?? That is a nice spot for the box. Also, where did you mount the XM antenna?

When I am completely finished, I will take some pics and post.

you have to put together the DDIN bracket... if you could take a picture of the stuff you've received I can let you know if you're really missing the pieces or just not seeing what they sent for what it is. Just find it hard they sent you two without the correct parts.

No...I checked everything with a fine tooth comb...they are missing. BUT, crutchfield called me today and said that the remaining 17 Metra kits that they have in stock are ALL MISSING the brackets....WOW!!! They have to reorder a new shipment...in the meantime, they did give me the number to call Metra direct and explain my situation in hopes that they will send me just the brackets that I need. I did...and they are shipping them out today. So I just have to wait a couple of days and this project will be complete.

How to install

I want to put this kit in and put in a navigation system. First of all I want to know how to take the stock radio out, Im planning on doing this myself and I if I have to take the whole dashboard off to do it then I'll live with my stock radio. You guys seem to know what you're talking about and I'd appreciate your advice. If you could PM me and let me know what I have to do I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I have a quick question that maybe someone can chime in with a quick. The deck I just got has a built in XM tuner, is there a way to use the existing XM antenna that is hooked up to the stock unit? If so, how and where is the plug? Does it require some funky-ass adapter, or is it the standard connection? thanks!
