so i replaced the 160 thermostat with stock 187 degree t stat, put spark plug spacers on downstream o2 sensors (post cat), and got walmart H7 platinum AGM battery seemed like good deal for 850cca and gel they said… anyway, STILL wont complete o2 sensor monitor and cat monitor , but its only been 2 drive cycles
have noticed: 1) elec fan comes on for awhile after driving, just for a couple of minutes, read somewhere 220 is the trigger. 2) the streamed data on upstream and downstream o2 sensors on both banks used to be pretty identical values — now the downstream sensors higher value and seem to lag changes in front sensor slightly - i read this is good guess we’ll see 3) the car drives about 20 degrees hotter. it used to always be dead center on. guage now 15-20 to the right 4) the car runs MUCH more smoothly, idk if its heat or the rear o2 spacers (read they don’t matter but maybe they do?), faster acceleration, chirped in second gear easily — seems stronger, sounds better too like its purring not sputtering 5) car gets to 190 much more quickly thank you for suggestions! will post back on monitor readiness and fuel efficiency (see if i get better than 14 with 70% highway miles) she just runs amazingly, best since my mods, same gas station, same weather — in did 3 things all at once and something mattered. happy camper thinking i might be able to do w/o SC running like this THANK YOU |
