Holy crap that sux!!

I have Allstate with 4 vehicles on the policy and I only pay $300 every six months for my 2012 2SS. I too have been a customer for 16 years but I'm finding more and more that loyalty means nothing in the insurance business. Shop around. State Farm did a similar type of thing to my wife a number of years ago. Jacked her insurance like $400 bucks a year for buying a newer model of the same car.

I pay 1800 a year for my 98, and will have to pay 2500 a year for a new ss. I am 22, and unmarried though lol. Clean record though

Im going to be paying a little over $700 for 6 months of coverage. Im only 20 years old with 2010 Camaro 2SS, so ill take it. I think its a pretty good deal compared to what it could be. I think Progressive, Geico, and All state quoted me at ~$900

I've been insured with them for 16 years mind you, so I call them up to see if was a mistake, well it wasn't.

I called Geico and they insured both my car and my wife's car with the exact same coverages I had with Allstate for only $1149.30 ever 6 months for full coverage and high limits.

Conversely Allstate wanted $2076.72 for every 6 months. That comes to a difference of $1854.84 less for the year.

I have to say, screw you Allstate!!!! After 16 years of paying them they just wanted to rip me off.

Your new insurance still seems high to me. My 2010 2ss/rs full coverage is only $520.00 a year with State farm. For the record I'm 45

I understand completely. I was with Farmers since I was 16 (8 years ago) and they wanted $165 a month for just my Camaro. I called Geico and got $65 a month for full coverage at 10x the legal limit and liability on my 2000 S10. It was amazing the difference!

If they raised it $20 bucks a month or so I probably would have just paid it, but they raised it about $120.00 per month.

I nearly crapped when I opened the bill. I guess it worked out well anyway because now I'm paying even less than before I changed the car.

Geico is nearly 2k less per year, really? Not even in the same ballpark.

My rates actually went down when I added my 1LT and took off my 2008 G6. I have 2 cars and have the Camaro listed as 'pleasure use',under 8500 miles a year.

yeah, insurance companies dont give 2 squats for how ever long you been with them its ridiculous how they are getting out of hand with everything. its a pain in the arse to get a reasonably close to right quote from their stupid adjusters who dont know how to do body work and think that you can replace a roof skin in 30mins on a navigator

Definitely shop around, but also consider the fact that geico is famous for dropping people with one claim over $5-10k, and once you are dropped, getting fair priced insurance ANYWHERE is difficult for a few years. This happen to my father at age 65 because of my sister. They dropped all 4 of his cars......it was a nightmare. Also, they try and force repair shops to use aftermarket body panels....to save bucks. They are very tight and slow on claim payouts. Just our experience. I have been with State Farm for my car and house insurance since 87.......no issues. My loaded SS is costing $565 for 6 months here in Vegas, which is not a "cheap" insurance area.

If you are young, try and keep a clean record as possible and stay with an insurance company as long as you can and they treat you different. Especially if you always pay on time!

32 here, but I live in FL, one of the most expensive in the country for auto insurance.

Let me just that first off you get what you pay for. Geico saves you money now but wait till you need them to pay for something. THEY SUCK!!!! I have a wrecker service and see it all the time the corners they cut and the reason they save you money because they will use cheap aftermarket parts or junk yard crap. The 2 best companies out there are Farm Bureau and State Farm. I have State Farm and I pay $400.00 every six months for my SS. Me being 45 helps also with a clean record (that to a cop letting me off for speeding). Allstate is good but a little high. But they will take care of you if you need them.

My SS costs 800.00 per year through Farm Bureau.I thought that was high. My wife had a fender bender in my pick-up is the reason. Her record will clear in 6 months and they say my premium will come down some. I do have my house, contents, truck and motorhome through them as well.
