Can you explain the differences? I like CGM, but it can look kind of flat IMO depending on the lighting. From the pics I've seen of AGM, it looks to have a bit more depth which I've always thought CGM could use.

Is that not the case when seeing it in person?

Cgm looks different from certain angles, agm just like a regular metallic grey imo.

I agree the ZL1 is awesome...but the Ashen Gray is was too bland for my taste. I love the way the front end looks in person.

I tend to agree...I had my heart set on a Yellow ZL1 with a blk stripe. Then they threw a wrench into it it by addiing that awsome exposed CF and turning the stripe to dark grey. Not having actually seen the dark grey stripe, I have images of it not matching/looking good on any other color, other than Silver.Silver is nice but Borring, although stealthy as it seems like 70% of all cars are silver! I actually saw the orange met on a sonic at the dealership and thought ,wow thats nice.Again I thought of the dark grey stripe and figure it wont look good.It kinda pisses me off that i will probably be paying close to 70k CDN for a car with a color i really don't like.

I agree that AGM is definitely not a look at me type of color, so if you prefer a more vibrant shade I don't see this appealing to you.

To me, at least from the pictures I've seen, AGM is more of a stealthy, subtle color that makes the car look like a gunmetal weapon in certain lighting. Of course, nothing beats seeing a color in person to pass judgement, but if AGM looks like this pic, I'll admit that I love me some boring!

Wow I thought ashen grey was fantastic, as in post #35. Colors can play tricks like that. In '08 I was hooked on IBM when I was shopping for my truck, and in person I was less impressed by it as opposed to pictures.

It just means that we need some more........pics lol!

So your wanting rally yellow with exposed CF insert right?
hmmmm....
I see your issue...
I think what I would do in your case would be to order the NON exposed weave... that way you get the dark stripe correct?
Once you get the car, swap the insert out for a exposed weave insert when the insert becomes a order able option.
Or... you could go to the extreme and order with NO stripe...
have your stripe color of your choice painted on by your dealer (not a vinyl sticker like factory) and order a exposed weave insert once it becomes order able as a spare.

It is a really nice color, I'm not saying its not. All Im saying is looks better on the pics than in real person imo.

That's good to know... I think (I appreciate everyone's honesty and feedback). It is a bit concerning that a lot of feedback from those that have seen the ZL1 vert at the LA auto show have been less than impressed in regards to AGM. I wonder if the lighting intensity and/or color temperature at the LA ZL1 exhibit is less than optimal, producing a lackluster appearance?

It's strange how so many are unimpressed at the LA show but those that saw the AGM carbon concept at SEMA had a lot of good things to say about it (and the pictures back it up). Lighting can make or break a color, so you never know.
