Too much plastic on dashboard

I like the trim on the dash, and could even get used to the steering wheel... But those gauges have got to go.

No matter what you paid for your car, the Camaro is still considered an affordable, mass-produced vehicle.

Maybe if the op put various colored shag-carpet on the dash (and behind the rear seat), it would look smaller.

I actually like the dash in mine. I have the fabric insert instead of the painted plastic so that helps some. I think the shape of the dash minimizes how large it appears. I am not a fan of the 2012 insert dash because to me it doesn't look as sporty, but most do prefer it so GM made the right choice. Like the old saying; you can please some some of the time, but not all all of the time

1. - it infuriates PETA

2. - each person has a 'gotta have' that they'd love to see on the car - if we give everyone their 'gotta haves' the Camaro will have a base price of 30K...

3. - most car buyers keep their cars for 4 or 5 years. Some Camaro owners like to keep their cars for 35 years. The I.P. in a Camaro is meant to last for quite some time. Calf-skin? not so much............


The team was given a mandate from the public: make the car as close to the concept car as possible.......which we did. The I.P. looks very much like the concept - except that the concept had all kinds of exotic metals on the I.P. - metals that would seriously deform your face should you be foolish enough not to be wearing a safety belt. The "plastic" that you see meets all federal safety standards........and it's durable.

I understand that perhaps you don't care for it - but also note we've made changes for the 2012 model year...........

We listen to everyone - but at some point, we have to make hard decisions......

Mod it a bit and you can break up the black if you do not care for so much of it. Here is some of what i have done to mine. Zero silver and breaks up the black just right for me. As for soft. The doors and dash panels are done in leather here. Easy and quick mods.
