Congrats Birdible!

Maybe I'm a skeptic by nature or training...but I'd really like to know what all the production fixes going on the lines are.

I would like to know also but I know the word came from the top. He has always been forthcoming with me. Who knows as long as our cars get fixed.

So, Jason, is this a buyback from GM, lemon law or simply a trade-in on the new one?

Jason,

I'm glad that you got your issues taken care of. I'm going to have to check your history of posts and follow in your footsteps i'm afraid.

Mine is back in the shop for the infamous Water Bladder Management Leak (which I joked about with my service rep as "the next issue I should expect..."). I can only assume that it has been leaking since I picked it up from it's last fix in late December. I did check for it on a fairly regular basis, and didn't notice any leaking until yesterday. I realized then that I work nights and on the few days I have brought it out to play, it was dark and cold, making me believe that any water that may have leaked in was probably frozen under the carpet in the rear seat footwells.

Yesterday I got it good and warm and found about a half inch of water soaking the carpet. I'm afraid that a total replacement of the carpeting will be in order as I'm sure I probably have a mold issue growing there by now...

If my calculations are correct, mine has now been out of service for top issues about 18 business days and counting. 30 days, as you know, in MN is a Lemon Law trigger. I'd rather work with GM on this as I'm sure that isn't what they are hoping for. I have a very long road trip planned for May 11-25. I'm really hoping I have a convertible with a working top by then.

Keep us posted when you get the new one and let us know if it is actually fixed

Benjamin

Benjamin send me your email address via a PM and I will fill you in on what I did. To much to type on here.
Thanks all for the kind comments. GM stepped up and made it right for me and my car. To that I give them Kudo's. Once I get the VIN on the new car all the paperwork will start. I was just told to pick one off the lot or order one up. I chose to order what I want and plus that gives them at least 6 more weeks to get all the fixes on the line.

Ok - anybody that might know:

Just got the 5th bow replaced. Now, the headliner is not connected at the bottom of the rear windshield -it just hangs down. Also, both sides near the bottom rear windshield areas are loose. I can look in my rear windshield from the outside & see the wall of the back seats.

I showed the service manager & made another appointment so the tech can reconnect things properly. Does anybody know what the "reconnecting" of the headliner in the rear area of the car involves?

I was at the canadian international auto show yesterday and at one point I zeroed in on the camaro display.I met some knowledgeable product people from GM there.
I specifically asked about roof issues which to no surprise they were not aware of too many.
I was asking them about the usual rub marks, wind noise, 5th bows , etc.
I had a fantastic long conversation with them , at one point I think I had 4 product people with me with no less than 2 at anytime.
These people gather public opinion and take that info back to GM.

I referred them to camaro5 website and more specifically the convertible section.
I basically told them to look at the problems my fellow vert bretheren have experienced and they said they would.

I figured any extra pressure, especially at a public event where other potential buyers can overhear some conversation, I figured would be a good thing to put pressure on GM from a different perspective.

for those of you that don't know, the assembly plant where our beloved camaros are produced is about 45 minutes away from the auto show.

Now that it is car show season I suggest we all get out to our local shows and pose that very question to the reps. The more questions, the more they are apt to answer.
