Getting my top replaced due to the infamous "rub marks" - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey all,

Just wanted to give a little bit of kudo's to Jennings chevy in Glenview, IL. I know some people that have issues getting the convertible top rubbing issue fixed by various dealers. I just took mine in today and they gave me no hassle whatsoever. They were very nice and took the time to look over my top for a good 15 mins or so. The new top is on order and should be here within a week.

Just figured I would share my experience.

Congrats on the hassle free trip... at this point id strongly recommend ensuring the cause of the marks are adequately fixed before installing a new top. Likewise, make sure they're up to speed on the installation techniques to avoid additional problems (wind noise, leaking, unseated seals...)

Good Luck! Hope you have a better top replacement experience than the rest of us. I assume you've read the "does your top have rub marks" thread?

Good luck from one of those that had mine replaced and am having more problems now than I did before. BBB requested all docs from the dealer today.
All I have to say is make sure all the TSB's are done on the new top, if you have any issues with the new top do not hesitate to bring it back in.

Recommend they get GM involved if they never have done a camaro top replacement before. It is not straight forward as the corvette. Good luck, it will probably go great
