I had a jeep before there was enough jeeps around to do jeep waves. Then everyone started buying them and you couldn't go jeeping without running into a buttload of jeepers everywhere in things they called jeeps that weren't jeeps.
I gave the wave when riding harleys though, and if I see that other Camaro out there I wave or flash the hibeams.

And any Jeep Wave is not "owned" by the Jeepsters, waving originated among motorists back in the late 1800s, when early motorists used only hand signals and another horseless carriage was unique to pass by. And before that, people in buggys or on horseback waved at each other too. So WTH, Jeep Wave was the beginning of nothing...
You knew full well what I meant by "Jeep wave in your Camaro". If you initially were confused as to what I was referring to then you could have read the replies...at which point you would have seen that everyone else totally understood exactly what I meant and you too could have followed along. But let me clear it up for ya...

By "Jeep wave in a Camaro" I'm describing an action (Jeep wave) and the conditions (in your Camaro). Now since that was ambiguous (to you) I will further explain that the action should be done between fellow 5th gen owners towards each other. Get it?

As far as your history lesson, it can be debated that such action in the 1800s (and earlier) was simply a courtesy or a show of caution and direction. 2 vehicles are passing and they wave not to show comradeship but to acknowledge that they are mindful that another vehicle is in close proximity. Or they wave as a message that the path ahead is clear of dangers and hazards and it is safe to continue on. Since you were not present in those times it is safe to say that those concepts were not identical to modern displays of fellowship. But I take it that you do no such thing...

No.

A lot of 4th gen and older camaro owners don't feel the 5th gen is worthy of the title "camaro" so they give it no respect, and as such I don't return the favor.

likewise, most 5th gen owners I encounter seem like oblivious non car people, so I don't wave at them either.

if someone waves at me however, and I'm in a position where I have time for my hand to react , I will wave back.

I had 2 guys in a T-top 3rd gen with the tops off give me a "rock on" out the top of the T-tops. I would have waved out my moonroof back at them, but it was closed at the time.

Yes I wave , or flick on off my fogs.
Pass a Challenger and a mustang 3-4 times a week and they wave back.
have had a few gen 5's see me and wave also.

I wave at Camaros, Jeeps and bikes depending on what I am driving at the moment.

i used to wave at 5th gens all the time back in like 2010 and a bit of '11 but after a while here in Fresno the 5th gens became so common that not everyone GETS IT. Back when they first came out everyone understood the wave..now people will look at me like im nuts if they are "just driving a car" rather than feeling like an enthusiast and thinking "im driving my camaro!"

Such a shame!!!!!!!

It even used to be printed in the Jeep manuals back in the day..

but even more to the point, there's also just being observant..

Ever drive your Jeep and have other JEEP DRIVER'S wave at you???

It should be happening enough that even if you didn't know that there was a "JEEP WAVE", that you might have wondered why the Jeeps were waving at you.

If you aren't getting the waves from Jeeps, they are doing it wrong.

I usually do the light flash but seldom get one in return. Heck, I get more acknowledgment from mustang and BMW owners....go figure!

The only time I knew the light flash was a "Hi" was when I see it posted on here. Honestly if I was driving around and saw it, I would think either the guy thinks my headlights are too bright or there's a cop ahead.

I find this part most true in my area. Most around here are older women too... not in good way.
