My feedback - learn about what you are trying to sell! As others have said, I also lurked here for over a year, then built numerous versions on the Chevy site and then viewed local inventory. When I finally decided on a 45th Anniversary edition, I submitted quote requests through Edmunds and then visited the 4 dealers in the area that showed stock. Only one of the dealers had both the 2LT and the 2SS on the lot at the same time and frankly no one at that dealer had a clue about them. I knew what I was getting into and played with them to see how bad it was - the result was both the sales and service guys told me that there was absolutely no difference between the 2LT and 2SS except the engine.

The sales guy at the dealership I bought from was no better as he was selling Chryslers the week before and was only interested in how I would answer the survey...

Learn about the dang car!

anyhow, all the other camaro's do in fact come with a spare. if you do in fact have an LS, you have a spare.

I assure you there is a battery and an inflator kit, no spare.

I can also provide pics for proof, after all it's sitting in my driveway.

It may be an option, but no LS on the lot had one.

The skyman 08 above has it right. Spare tire is an OPTION only for the LS and LT's at an addtional $150. The tire inflator kit comes STANDARD on ALL Camaros.

If anyone is looking for a spare tire option / solution for the SS, you should read this thread! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216792.

Overall, my salespeople was very good. My only complaint was I spoke to two different sales people and neither of them explained what the different trims were or what packages were out there.

I test drove a 1LT and a 2LT and figured those were my choices.

I wish the salesperson had mentioned I could get the RS package in a 1LT, because I would have bought that. Instead I bought the basic 1LT package.

I mentioned this to my sales guy today and he said that was a good point and he would mention the trims and packages to future customers.
Most salesmen are full of crap, and they will say whatever it is they feel you want to hear at any given time. More than likely he didn't know or care about the various trim levels.

I can only encourgage you to go to http://www.dealerrater.com, register and voice your opinion about your experience(s) with your dealer(s) there.

Perhaps all of us who do register, should somehow build "C5" into their usernames so we'll know what another forum members' experence was. One does NOT need to use their C5 username so as to remain anonymous.

Sometimes they miss things on the window sticker, I bought a 76 Malibu that had the optional F-41 suspension package but it wasn't on the window sticker but it was on the build sheet.

Two cars two salespeople both great people.

The convertible we are picking up Monday is one of the best buying experiences I have had. Becky D. Of Rodgers Chevrolet has bent over backwards to make the deal I wanted.
Nothing bad I can say about the local salesman either. I have bought 3 cars from him, 2007 HHR, 2008 Saturn Vue, and my 2010 Camaro. The only reason I did not buy from him this time was there were no cars available within 100 miles like we wanted. I am very happy as of right now.

Well lets see. Where to begin?

Salesman was a bald ass liar, as was the sales manager. I caught them in so many lies, they would have filled a 200 page book. I walked out, and then they called and gave me what I wanted.

Then they sold my trade-in without paying off my loan until I got GM involved. I also called that State, and they were going to pull their dealership license for selling a vehicle (my trade-in) without a clear title.

I gave them the review they deserved.

Best auto buying experience I have had in 45 years. Early April 2010, started an email conversation with my sales associate. I asked lots of questions that he always answered fully, in depth, within hours. We negotiated prices. Finally May 18, 2010, I agreed to come in for a test drive. With help from friends I had a test drive planned covering many types of road conditions. Test drive took 45 mins. and sales associate also offered more places to test road conditions. Back at dealership, he ran the formal price quote for a 2011 2LT I wanted to order. Did not yet have GM pricing on the 2011 models so quoted 2010 model prices. My order was processed that day and I was sent the GM order confirmation. In June production started on the 2011 models and I was kept informed on every stage of its production, my Camaro was promised 1st week of Aug. 2010. During the wait, I insisted when I did pick up the auto don't try and sell me dealer add-ons, no dealer logo sticker on paint, etc. During the wait my sales associate called me, and offered me a 2010 Camaro to drive for a week. I declined the week offer but did borrow one for a day so I could get confirmed pricing on window tint, clear bra, and custom painted rear blackout. Was notified on the day my Camaro was born, from time it started on the assembly line to time it rolled off (a little over 8 hours). My Camaro was delivered to dealership end of first week of Aug. as promised (5 days in transit). Even though I am only a 5 min. drive to the dealership, sales associate emailed me pictures of my Camaro being unloaded. Two days later (after dealer prep) I went to close the deal. There was my 2011 2LT Summit White on the sales floor, locked, with a sign on the windshield marked SOLD - Do not touch. Wow, I felt special. Paperwork completed super fast as no last min. attempt to sell me after market dealer stuff. They made the phone call to GM MasterCard to add additional discount, and auto plates & registration already completed from my trade in I had transfered to the dealer the previous May. I had read fine print on my sales contract back in May, they could have charged me more because price quote was based on 2010 prices, but no change in price so in fact I got the HUD for free. Took paperwork to bank, got a cashiers check for full price and then back to dealership. Only took one hour 15 mins. from the time I walked into dealership to when I drove off the lot and they had an employee follow me home in my second auto I was driving that day.
Sorry for the long post but must say my experience with Myer's Chevy Cadillac - Baseline in Ottawa, was excellent. From first email contact with a sales associate in April 2010 to Aug. 2010 when I drove off the lot with my 2011 2LT, I was treated with respect and honest upfront pricing.

My salesman might as well have been a computer. I walked in with the list of what I wanted and what I would pay, and thats exactly what I got. I called him to get my tracking numbers and to pick up the keys.

The sales people should absolutely know the product they're selling. I'd would estimate that six out of ten sales people have no little to no product knowledge, and of those 5 of 10 probably won't make an effort to learn. Those are the numbers, and it's not very different w/ almost any other product. The majority know jack about the product and manage to get by, and that's all they care about. A small minority have taken the time to educate themselves about the products they sell, regardless of the product.

The annoying thing is when customers don't educate themselves about a product then buy it anyway from an equally clueless sales person, then complain the sales person knew nothing. If you don't educate yourself about what you're buying you can't turn around and blame anymore more than yourself. This isn't meant to defend sales people. I've already stated it's BS when they don't know the product, and the competitors product to boot. They should know everything about every car in order to help you make an informed decision. Unfortunately the old saying is true about a fool and their money.

Don't be a fool, educate yourself, and if you have a salesperson that doesn't know anything about the product, go to the tower (where the managers sit) and ask for a better sales person. No need to be a jerk when doing so, just say, "excuse me, my sales person doesn't seem to know very much about the car, is there anyone better informed about the car?" Believe me, they'll pull that sales person off you and get you a better sales person. Also, if you know about the product you're purchasing, that's great. Just don't be an ass about it if you do, there is no need to "flaunt your knowledge" about the car you want.

I love an informed customer, I loathe a know it all.

Ya, my guy didnt have a friggin clue about the car.
I researched it for a couple months before even walking in to the dealer.
He sold me the car i wanted but didnt follow through with promises he made during the deal and stopped returning my calls. after a month of being ignored i sent in my survey and within 2 weeks the owner called me, gave me my accesories i was promised and canned the salesman.
Those surveys are taken seriously

Agree. First time I used the the Internet to buy a new auto was 1995, 17 years ago when I bought a new 1996 Sebring LXI coupe!! My internet search 17 years ago resuted in a killer deal when I ordered my new 1996 Sebring LXI.
Internet auto stuff, 17 years ago I first used Internet to research a new car purchase. Auto prices were on-line 17-18 years ago. I might be an old fart, but I have been using a home PC since 1986 (26 years). Not a new concept shopping auto prices on the web.
