Ceramics make very little dust and very little noise but dont perform as well in high performance situations IE: on a track, on a superchargered or performance modified car.
Cool...thanks for the input!!....so high performance, high squeak, and high dust or medium performance, no squeak, and no dust....lol....

Thanks for the TSB, my camaro seems to make that chatter the most when backing up and turning.

56K miles and never heard a sound out of my brakes but I drive fairly aggressive and maybe the pads don't get a chance to get smooth enough to squeek. No problems with posi either.
I do get the click from the rear end when rolling forward and back each time direction changes. That's a TSB from 2009 but I just haven't wanted to part with my car long enough to address the issue.

I would think so...shouldn't that TSB be good for the 100,000 mile warranty??...somebody on here has to know...anyone??

There is a whole thread under the Warranty and TSB area about the grinding noise. I had the issue with my 2010 as well. There are actually two different problems reported with TSB's for both. On my car, the symptoms were a grinding sound when backing up while turning. In my case it was the TSB on the ABS update that solved my problem. In the other TSB the fix was for fluid change and fresh additive for the differential.

Yes, the TSB is still good on your car.

I changed my diff fluid out at 1500 miles and because of the many, many post on here saying to do this(figure 8s), I did. No noise.
I had to tell the service tech about the 8's...he then apologized for not having a lot of knowledge with GM cars...he came from working at Ford for 15 years..

Have you had a chance to smash the brakes?
I made the dealer do some...and I did some last night after I picked her up...

My brembos squeek all the time, but the noise and dust output doesn't have anything to do with them. It's the pads. I plan to get carbon ceramic brake pads to thwart that particular problem.

OH CRAP.... I have the 2SS and my brakes DON'T squeak... I'm going to have to take it in to get checked... according to your tech my brakes should be squeaking!

This reminds me of the time my father-in-law was having issues with his Avalanche's brakes squeaking.... the tech told him the same thing yours told you.... "sir, they are suppose to squeak, that is normal..blah blah blah..." well, time goes by..... he had the brake pads replaced because it was that time.... well, he left the dealership and noticed the brakes were not squeaking.... He turned around and drove back to the dealership and said, "something is wrong... you've been tellling me for years my brakes are suppose to squeak. These don't squeak. You must have installed them wrong." I would have paid a month's salary to see the look on that guys face.

True story...
