Like the SRT8 Charger that couldn't even hit 13's at the track last week.... He ran like 10 times too! Barely hit 100 mph trap mark.
![]() I asked him, "has that thing got a hemi?!" and he said, "yeah it's the srt8 6.1!" I and few others laughed our asses off! Most overrated engine of all time... it will never be on par with even the LSx. Well mainly it's the re-used hand-me-down 15 year old E class chassis it sits that hurts the engine's rep. The owner's always revert to, "well.... it looks mean!" or "well it can run neck and neck with or.... *gasp* beat your 6 cylinder!". Hahaha, I would hope it can beat a 5 year old 6 cylinder family sedan..... seeing to it I am not forced induction, but that's seldom the case. Back to the point. A stock R/T or 6.1 Charger is not going to "blow the doors off" an L99, if anything it would be the other way around. A bolt on tuned LLT with driver mod should run neck and neck or beat an R/T and be within a car of the slowest SRT8 6.1 auto variant. Last edited by 08-G35s/6MT; 12-25-2012 at 07:32 PM. |

![]() The car on the left is the Charger SRT8, the car on the right is manual LS2 GTO. All of the cars ^ are 6 cylinder family sedans. Thanks for playing, though. ![]()

Magazine racing......... c'mon. Mags also said the 392 was a high 12-13 sec car... They will run mid to low 12's as we have seen. I base what I see at the track, cars I have driven & raced not what I read.

By the way, the cars that you posted times for are called "Sport Sedans". Last edited by strykerg8gt; 12-25-2012 at 08:50 PM. |

i have seen that(srt8)....this kid with the g-35 is just like a friends/friend that keeps saying that his 2012 5.0 will run 11's with just drag radials....the guy has never even seen a track, and has lost to my heavy ass camaro when we were both stock....i really just avoid people like that, they seem to run there mouths faster than there cars.

"My g35 is fast"
The magazine clip and time sheet you posted means you'd lose if the G37 S did ![]() Here's some math I like, 8>6. Case closed. No chance that a V6 hangs with the SRT8, even if it's in a heavy car with the 6.1. |

I guess you've never heard of the VQ? 268 ft/lbs of torque, DOHC....I could go on. Suffice it to say, that's the motor the GM wishes it had for the Z06...instead they've got some junk dinosaur pushrod v8 in there. My dream car is a a Z06 with a VQ swap. |
