From a dead stop your L99 from the factory is going to feel sluggish. After the Tune the first gear 4.03 will actually be something you notice.

I'm waiting for Kook's to get me my 1 7/8 Lontubes so I can throw on an Off road X pipe and a set of mufflers ( dont know which ones yet ) and the 2 QTP cutouts.

Yesterday I got my Vigilante 2800 stall converter in. I picked this stall converter because my cousin has the same one on his 08 C6 Vette. It's completely streetable and it knocked 5 tenths off his ET. 60 footers came down from 1.8s to 1.59s. Best bolt-on $ for $.

After I get my exhaust done and my converter installed im going to get it retuned. Next will be Rearend.

im used to a 4thgen with 3.90's and a detroit locker so Gears and this IRS are going to be something I do lots of homework on.

I will keep yall updated
I need the advice on how and where to get a "Tune"

Those are a great group of guys up there...I do hope than isn't an APS kit, and that its something they are doing custom for you...have you read about all the turbo failures with APS turbo's...That crap scared me away, between that an APS's poor customer service. Intense is a great shop and they were always helpful and responded quickly, but I know they posted on the G8 board that APS was no longer shipping G8 kits. Good luck with the build, sure it will make killer power!

Now that we're all gathered here together anyway, how about an informal collection of cams that people know are in the works? I'm not sure if Milk's mod list has them all, but I remember Comp's obviously got a couple in the works, and I think LMR said they were having one ground as well...

If I ever get my hands on my car here in the Colorado allocation-wastelands, I think I'm going to slap that Corsa on first, cam it and wait for either a cheaper CAI or Lingenfelter to do one, tune it and call it good. Originally I wanted to do a lot more, but for anything radical I'd rather wait a year or two until much more is known from experience with the L99 than experimentation, since it's going to be my daily driver.

There’s a good article on the L99 in the August ’09 issue Hot Rod magazine.

What's up Matt? I gotta give you a call sometime this week...

We are almost done with our Prototype Over The Radiator style induction system, hoping to have a finished prototype product with pics and official dyno numbers this week, we have the concept down(which wasn't easy), now we have to rebuild a final prototype for final testing. Also, tuning is going to be huge in these, not just the Engine tune but the Trans tune will be the biggest improvement. Our project car will then be getting American Racing Headers, throttle body and intake manifold port job, and then underdrive pulley and custom cam swap which will be available after testing. The converter comes after that, the rear gearing will be left alone.

Mike, you have a flowbench? When you go to port that intake manifold, I'd be interested to see what kind of numbers you're getting pre-grind.

Got the Corsa exhaust installed on my car. Finally got to drive it to work today, the system sounds great, kind of sounds like the exhaust Corsa has for the Corvette. It has a little rumble at around 1700 rpm, must be when the 4 cyclinder mode kicks in. But overall it is not that bad.

We did a full days worth of dyno testing and road tuning to fine tune the calibration on an otherwise stock L99 today. The long report will come tomorrow. But I can tell you that we gained 30 rw hp and 30 rw tq while improving driveability, shifting and overall performance. If you do no other mod to a L99, you must have this tune! More details including dyno sheets tomorrow in a new thread.

Glad to see this from you guys and I agree and also think the biggest gain is going to be the tune by far based on the datalogs I have collected. I had a GM reflash update which changed the operating system slightly and sent the info to HPtuners today because now the Beta software doesn't have the definition to work at all for editing, so once again I sit and wait for it because apparently updated calibrations are generally better to work with. I have the dyno results from our OTR Prototype intake system, I will get them posted as soon as I get time, of course due to the circumstances, the results are only from the stock tune, but I think the gain will speak for itself.
