L99 guys, where y'at?

Hey ya'll i'm new to the forum but have been a long time reader. I have had a CGM 2SS/RS A6 on order since 10/15/08...needless to say i'm still waiting. My question to the L99 guys is how are your cars responding to the mods you are doing? And most of all, a question that i'm sure other L99 owners are dying to know the answer to, how bad is the drone with an aftermarket exhaust while AFM is engaged? I know there have been threads discussing this topic but i don't think anyone has posted a definitive response yet. This will be a major factor in choosing a catback system to go with the ARH system that i will be ordering. Someones personal experience or a video would be nice. Thanks

Dan, make sure you dyno and get video every step of the way instead of doing it just once at the end. That is the only real way you can help all of us. j/k of course.

What do you have planned for the cam and VVT? I've seen comp cams has made impresive gains on othe rVVT engines. Who is designing your cam?

To any and every L99 owner the #1 thing you MUST do get your car tuned.

Torque Managment Kills this car. A tune will disable this feature on the car and give it the true performance it should have.
From a dead stop your L99 from the factory is going to feel sluggish. After the Tune the first gear 4.03 will actually be something you notice.

I'm waiting for Kook's to get me my 1 7/8 Lontubes so I can throw on an Off road X pipe and a set of mufflers ( dont know which ones yet ) and the 2 QTP cutouts.

Yesterday I got my Vigilante 2800 stall converter in. I picked this stall converter because my cousin has the same one on his 08 C6 Vette. It's completely streetable and it knocked 5 tenths off his ET. 60 footers came down from 1.8s to 1.59s. Best bolt-on $ for $.

After I get my exhaust done and my converter installed im going to get it retuned. Next will be Rearend.

im used to a 4thgen with 3.90's and a detroit locker so Gears and this IRS are going to be something I do lots of homework on.

I will keep yall updated

IMO I think gears isn't worth it with the low ass first gear ratio..

as for mods, I dyno'd it stock was only like 323rwhp, I already deleted TM and tuned some timing etc.

I will only have a chance to redyno when I get "everything" on, so should be a couple weeks.

Keep us informed.

I am getting the GM Performance CAT Back and their CAI.

Question,

Does turning off TM let this car break lose with just turning off traction control and stomping on the gas?

Right now the only way to spin them is power breaking and I am not a real fan of that.

I gave the Mast Motorsports guys a call today and asked them to post up some stuff (cam wise) for gains and information about the L99 valve train and keeping VVT intact. - I felt kind of like an idiot because I didn't really know what to ask- but hopefully they will be showing up in a couple of days.

I'd like to know that too. I love the control the car has when TC is on. There is no way to break those tires loose which makes it real safe to drive but when I turn traction control off I want everything off...no torque mangament.
