We ordered a replacement Camaro (1st one wrecked) from JLS. Then after Jay talked to Paul, we decided to walk away from the add-ons. We ended up buying one for $2,000.00 over MSRP in IN. When Jay and our daughter flew out to pick up the car, the salesguy met them at the airport. We are totally satisfied with the deal and love the car.

If the guys in Novato can't help you, I say go out of state.

I have yet to hear anything good about JLS .... damn!

Our deal with Hanlees in Davis worked out good, took forever to get our car but I don't think it was their fault. got the car at MSRP with nothing more than a handshake. Ordered on Oct. 13th and got it a few weeks ago.
Nope not yet, but it's going faster now!
I'm really glad you finally got yours!! and that Hanlee's pulled through for you!

Congrats SummoneR and outlawz. Did you both order from Novato? My first order was from Novato but I had to cancel and later found Hanlees, My first Camaro came in on June 3. Hope the person who got it is enjoying it. It kills me to know I could have been enjoying it all this time... Oh well mine is on its way......

Yeah outlawz ordered first then me from Novato. On Thursday he was #1 in line I was #2. They got 2 allocations and we both went to 2000 at the same time!

Yeah that sucks! I feel the same about my first order, that someone will be driving my original order thats just like my second... until I customize it!!

Lesson for everyone. Whatever price you agree on, GET IT IN WRITING! Or even have the sales person EMAIL it to you...

The law

This is the law almost everywhere, When you and the dealer agreed on a price not only were you agreeing to buy at that price but the dealer was agreeing to sell at that price. If options were added on later that you did not authorize thats tough nuts to the dealer. You can sue and force the sale through at the agreed upon price, as long as you can prove what that was (something in writing). I would bring an action against the dealership and get the car sticking them for the price of any unauthorized extras. Thats the best way to make them stop doing this to people in the future.

Additionally under the law, their is an implied price and a listed price. The Consumer is protected by the transfer of information printed by the Dealership and can easily be taken to court for liable and damages.

Example: You order your new Camaro on X-Date, and on the same date, your Dealership prints out the Bench Order specs. On Page 3 of that detailed report lists the price with all options that YOU ORDERED, and an additional 6 pages of specs and information about the car.

When you reveive that paperwork from the Dealership, that is a confirmed price, implying that you will receive those options under that price. Nothing on the Bench Order Detail Sheet does it infer that there will be additional fees. Either signed, printed, hand carried, emailed or FEDEX'd, the paperwork came from that office and was provided on an implied rule of cost under agreement.

Also, the Computer Database that is used to build your Custom Order is licensed and authorized for use by GM authorized Dealers. In the upper right hand corner of this Detail Report identifies the user of the program (Sales Manager or Salesman), date which ordered and contact information. That in itself is a Signature.

Finally, the footer of this Detailed Custom Order Report lists the Copyright information of GM and the Customer File name including the Program that was used by the Dealership - "Chrome Systems Corporation."

Mine is a 9 page completed report that I asked for on order day and again 90 days after my car was initially ordered and then accepted on day 95. NOWHERE on those 9 pages does it imply that the Dealer reserves the right to change, alter, ammend or increase the price of this car. Now for arguements sake, they could say that it also does not "say" that the price is confirmed - but ANY lawyer has this Detailed Report can argue the implied law of price listed on the report. Any implied contract provided by a licensed Dealership in the State of California proivided to a customer is a confirmed price under that Detailed Report.

Go Get em!!!!!!
