I'm really sorry to hear they said it was normal. they run their 1200rpm test and if the noise goes away then they class it as normal. I can tell you mine doesn't sound like that. the only good news I have for you is, if your problem is the same as mine, it will get worse. just make videos and document that you can hear it in the cab.
good luck!

I've been wanting to do the solid coupler thingy but I'm too chicken to void my warranty.

That'll be my luck. I try to make things better then my S/Cer pukes. Then GM tells me to take a hike because I voided my warranty.

Not happening.

Thanks for the advice. I will def keep videos and the paper work they gave me saying its normal. I'm still hoping it doesn't get worse.

Because opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one.

so your zl-1 came with a can from the factory but in your next sentence you say if g.m thought it was needed theyd have put one? fyi, zl-1 does not come with one from the factory but does need one. go look at the catch can thread where i just posted pics of how much oil my can caught

just remember the drivetrain has 100000k mile warranty. that noise will only get worse and probably by your next oil change it will be loud enough to warranty.

Also, it was noted in the other thread, that factory plastic cylinder is for letting air into the PCV system not a catch can. Not sure if that is true.
