Looking forward to seeing the final product. How come you had to repaint 80% of the car?

Clear coat each panel with the orange on it so it does not have a small bump where the stripe is. Otherwise wax, dirt, etc would build up on it.

VERY interesting to see these pics. I have been attempting to simulate this type of scheme for my own car and have a thread going with my ideas which is almost exactly like what you've done except the stripe on mine is closer to the center and on the passenger side.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24759

I have tried just about every variation you can think of on this and the one that looked best to me was to not run the stripe over the edges and into the grill areas because doing that created broken angles which make the stripe appear crooked even though it's technically straight. Straight lines over wildly varying surfaces just don't look straight from any other angle than dead center. In my concepts I stopped the stripe at the edges which allows you to be off-center and still have the illusion of continuity.

But of course all this was me eyeballing things using Adobe Illustrator on photos. I'm certain that if the sculpted lines of the car in photos is that difficult to work with, it has to be worse on an actual car.

I may use an old illustrator's trick of aligning things optically rather than mathematically. Sometimes it can be technically accurate but "look" off so illustrators will adjust things slightly so that it looks right which is just an optical illusion but more pleasing to the eye.

Nice paint job and I noticed the width of your stripe is VERY close to what I chose

Just out of curiosity, how much did this cost you?

Arrow

Only Ford Mustang gose over the roof I would not have gone over the roof and down past the cowl, also a Ford style.

I just go by what GM has done in the past with Camaro,
sorry just the way I see it.

Just out of curiosity, what orange did you use, was it the inferno orange? Or a different one? I like it.
