You're correct in this matter. It seems everything has been signed off and the transaction has been completed so you should be OK.

This is NOT legal advice

I'm not sure what he'll try to do, but I'm certainly not writing another check. I plan to respect his request to come in and hear him out, but I did my deed, signed my paperwork and wrote my check.

Will update after my discussion with him.
There are a number of stipulations within the contract that may give your dealer a loophole through which to crawl. Always better to have an attorney advise you on matters such as contracts.

Might be worth calling the Chevy customer service number and let them know what's going on. I'm sure it's something they'd be interested in hearing about.

Who knows, maybe they'll also make a call to the dealership and tell them to knock it off.

Depending on the state law where he is, actual delivery of a vehicle takes place usually 3 days after actually getting it. Meaning you take delivery, and then 72 hrs you have the option to take it back and get your money back.

The dealer may have a similar option. But who knows?

signed sales contract in hand, and car in your driveway... the dealer is screwed. Im surprised they are even dumb enough to call you in. I would have told him over the phone that no need to waste my time in going in... in person or on the phone, the answer's no.

If situation was reversed, they would laugh you out the door if you showed up after a deal was made asking for a discount! F-em!

1100 since April 28th???????? 1st of 5 allocations???????? They should have taken delivery of at least 3-4 cars already. I think you better check, They are bypassing your allocation, so who is laughing at who?? Not trying to be a smart guy, just don't get too cocky until you take delivery.

And to OP, I wouldn't even call them back and I would take the car somewhere else for service!

I would not go back. If you do....leave that Camaro at home. But really.....why in the world go back?... Just send him the link with the discounts. That's all you have to do.

Hope by now your concerns have been dismissed. But, in the event you have not gone back for your sit down with the GM, know that all the paperwork you signed is sitting on his desk, contracts, m.s.o., d.m.v., papers ect., awaiting the resolution of same. This probably means that nothing has been done to transfer ownership to you & probably won't be until they extract their pound of flesh out of you. BBB CAREFUL with this.

Why are you going back to meet the dealer ? What I would do first is call an attorney (first consultation is usually free). Then call the dealer and advise you have contacted an attorney and your not meeting him and he can proceed any way he wants. You don't have to give the dealer any info. If he sues you, you can follow up with the attorney. I bet the dealer goes away.

I have no idea why you would even go back there to entertain their concerns. There is no reason for you to even talk to them. The only reason they want to meet with you is to pressure you into giving them more money. You already stated that you're NOT giving them any more money, so why waste your time meeting with them and going through the torture of some possible high pressure tactics they may try to put on you?

If you feel you HAVE to meet with them, don't drive the Camaro to the meeting!! Please post back, we are very interested in the conversation that ensues.

But for the life of me, I can't conceive why you go back and meet with them???

The trump card for this dealer is the fact that although they collected the money & deposited it (smart move on their part), they probably have made no move to register the car in her name. This process is not a given when you pay the dealer, it is an anticipated expection that the dealer is going to do the right thing. We all know that the seemingly endless number of variables that these dealers can come up with to rip you off are incalcuable. Don't be naive enough not to realize this fact. They are pros at this, and you can't beat them. My advice to anyone who suspects they are lucky to leave the dealer with the car & their wallets is to take all the paperwork with them & register the car & title it themselves. This will be an inconvenience, but it will give you piece of mind that you got what you paid for.
