OP, All Camaro Head replacement units are all a bit flakey, but much better than the 2010-2012 one. The Camaro has a very strange 2 din hole and odd integrated components.

There is a new Android one getting some play, but the jury is still out.

MyLink is a big improvement and with BA bigger amps and subs can be added with zero wire cutting. 2013+. The 2SS will have BA or it is an option on 1SS.

The sunroof is a must have for me. I don't mind tilting my head with my helmet on.

High Intensity Discharge lights (HIDs)
Halos
You can get 20" wheels, HIDs and halos on a 1SS with the RS package.

Yup cuz I do.
I might've missed it but which transmission do you prefer?
L99 A6 - VVT AFM 400hp
LS3 M6 - launch control 426hp
^^ just special feature from each. And if you want to upgrade performance knowing which motor you have will help.

I'm a mopar guy, owner of a black on black 2012 Charger, and while I love my car and Mopars, I'm very interested in a new Camaro SS. Honestly, my v6 is cool, but I need that rumble of a v8 in my life! While searching dealer inventories online looking for my next Mopar, a Challenger RT, I couldn't help but notice that Camaro SS's were in the same price range. That got me to paying closer attention and looking more and more at Camaro's! My research of Camaro's brought me to this site, which I see is very active, insightful, and helpful. So, I come to you guys in peace and might I probe your mind for some information.

Obviously, I know that the SS is the v8 trim of the Camara, as well as the ZL1 but there's no way I can afford that right now. I keep seeing on here things such as 2SS and SS/RS, etc. What does that mean? Can anyone provide me to a link where they break down each package and differences in standard features between each.

All I know, is that whichever car I get, it will have to have a v8, heated leather seats, and sunroof, and if I purchase a Camaro, the hid and halos. Which Camaro package should include those features?

Also, how hard would it be to change the head unit out on the Camaro? I know on my Charger, it's connected to the HVAC controls, making it impossible to remove the factory head unit. Although, on Challengers, it's not tied into the HVAC unit. What about Camaro's? If so, has a kit been developed to allow aftermarket head units?

I've narrowed down my next vehicle to either a 2011+ RT Challenger, and a 5th Gen Camaro SS, preferably 2011 up as well. Right now, the Challenger is in the lead, mainly because of the retro styling, the push button start(my charger has spoiled me lol), and the fact that I have more knowledge of it than the Camaro. Also, at 6'2, 230 with long legs, I know I fit comfortably in the challenger, and I've never rode inside a Camaro, so no idea of fitment there.

But, I want to make the best decision, and not look back and have regrets later. I know that dollar for dollar, based on speed and performance, the Camaro is a better buy. But how many times I'll run her at the track, or even play with other cars on the interstate is minimum at best. With my 70 hour a week work schedule, either car will just be my Sunday toy lol.

I'm not here to troll or anything. Just looking for information.
From where did you get that name SOSA ?

Some 6 foot+ people complain the Camaro is cramped. I have a 6'2" cousin who is a member here. He fits the car just fine. Personally I feel that too many people are driving 'toes on the pedals' and they just feel cramped.

But if you are concerned about roominess, then the Challenger is the way to go.

2011 or 2012 2SS/RS, manual could be the best choice. The prices are between $26K and $29K with less than 8,000 miles. Stick shift is more HP and not dealing with the fuel management kicking it into 4cylinder mode. You'll have cash left over to add mods and make it unique. Just my take....

Forgot to add - I'm 6'6" and car has no sunroof. Seat isn't all the way back (plenty of room). The side window openings are short, so most people have to lean the seat back anyway.
