New guy here.. well been lurking around. Mine is "still" on order due to having to reorder with another dealership(long story), but I did rent a silver 1SS from Avis a few weekends back to give me a slight fix while I have been waiting.

Well on Sunday as I was driving back to drop it back off.. a Maybach 62 pulls up along side at a stop and the window rolls down. The guy in the back (if you know about this car you will understand) says very nice car, smiles and gives me a thumbs up. I was in shock some what, and said thank you, nice car you have as well and we went our different ways. Cant really do anything but smile big when someone in a $400,000.00 car gives you a thumbs up like that. Although, all I could think after that was.. now if he would have asked for some Grey Poupon...

Enjoy your Camaro's friends, GM did it right and people see it now.

The best part of it all getting the attention is sitting at a light and watching the people in the cars behind you start digging around in their car to try and find their cell phone or camera to take a pic Cracks me up every time since I know what they are doing. I've had all sorts of attention over the car.. It is kinda uncomfortable. I just go with it. Thumbs ups, stares, pointing, wows, etc... gets lots of female's attention..

A simple thanks if it's a fleeting compliment (like someone walking by and saying "nice car")

If it goes farther than that, I'll usually ask about their car and compliment that...I typically find that most people that have talked to me in detail drive Mustangs, older Camaros, 350/370Z's, or some hopped up GM like a Trailblazer SS or the like. I suppose it could backfire if the person drove a minivan or something, but it hasn't yet.

I just say "Thank you very much, we love it!" There is no such thing as a quick trip to the store any more, people are always wanting to see it or ask questions. I do my best to "sell" the car and the Oshawa team. Last Friday night we were waiting to pull onto the highway and a car full of teenager types hung out of their car windows to take pictures of her!

Oh another thing... the most common situation...
Quote:
"Nice car! "

"Thanks, I love it "

"Is it fast?"

[me pretending not to look dumb-founded]

"OH yeah... very fast! "
I'm not sure why it's always necessary for people to ask that question, lol... oh well though, no complaints

I express a simple "Thank you!" and point out that the Folks at the Oshawa plant did a fine job building it.

Just start talking to them about every aspect of the car until they wish they would have never ask.
